Credit Controller (m/f/d*)
We are currently looking for a Credit Controller to be based in Milan on a full-time basis, reporting into the Credit Control Manager.
The Credit Controller will support the effective management of premium receivables, working closely with brokers, underwriters and internal stakeholders.
Responsibilities:
- Ensure premium payments are received within agreed credit terms, maximising collections and supporting the achievement of credit control targets.
- Process and administer credit control transactions accurately and in line with relevant procedures.
- Produce, analyse and investigate aged debtor reports and credit balances.
- Chase, resolve, negotiate and reconcile aged credit accounts directly with brokers, ensuring funds due to clients are forwarded without delay.
- Work closely with underwriters to resolve accounting queries and errors quickly, escalating issues when appropriate.
- Monitor payments received and maintain accurate records and data across relevant systems.
- Respond to customer enquiries, take ownership of allocated correspondence and keep relevant KPIs up to date.
- Document processes effectively, manage tasks within agreed timelines and proactively identify opportunities for continuous improvement, while providing cover across the team when required.
Knowledge and Skills
- Experience or knowledge of the end-to-end receivables process, supported by a relevant professional qualification or equivalent experience.
- Ability to communicate in Spanish, both verbally and in writing.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with excellent attention to detail.
- Clear and confident communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with a range of internal and external stakeholders.
- A collaborative and flexible approach, with a strong customer focus and willingness to share knowledge across the team.
- Strong planning and time management skills, with the ability to prioritise workload, meet deadlines and deliver results under pressure.
- A proactive mindset, taking ownership of tasks and continuously looking for ways to improve processes and performance.
- Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Excel and confidence using Microsoft 365; experience with SAP, Websure or Power BI would be an advantage.
