The Cyber Underwriter will be part of a team dedicated to maintaining and advancing underwriting excellence at Munich Re Italia. As a Corporate Underwriting team member, the Cyber Underwriter will contribute to growing a profitable portfolio of personal and commercial cyber products and participate in challenging projects. You will support all the activities related to the management and development of the Cyber Portfolio.

 

Your Job: 

  • Ongoing development of the company’s cyber proposition along the entire value chain of our cyber products, including close collaboration with underwriters and representatives across the organization; 
  • Monitoring trends in cyber insurance market and their strategic implications on our proposition; 
  • Assessing the expected risks and exposures in IT/cyber infrastructures and ecosystems; 
  • Risk-related supervision of the insured IT infrastructures, including conducting inspections and putting together loss prevention measures; 
  • Obtaining new business, upholding and extending upon client contacts with brokers and insurance companies; 
  • Working within a close-knit network of cyber experts in the group and with the claims units regarding the insured risks, transferring own experience into product innovations; 
  • Advising, supporting, and training the clients in cyber topics; 
  • Actively promoting capabilities in the area of cyber risks within the group and externally in client and broker meetings, conferences, and market events; 

 

Your Profile: 

  • University degree in Scientific area, IT or Computer Sciences;
  • 3 years or plus of related professional experience;
  • Basic understanding of cyber insurance with a willingness to specialize in this class of business;
  • Preferably basic knowledge of liability and/or property insurance;
  • Great team player and high communication skills with strong ability to transfer knowledge;
  • Analytical/out of the box mindset and solution-oriented approach;
  • Willingness to take responsibility and make decisions;
  • Customer-focused and excellent negotiation skills;
  • Fluent oral and written business English is essential;
