Senior Structurer - Financial Reinsurance Unit

Financial Reinsurance is a global strategic initiative located at the core of Munich Re‘s 2025+ Ambition. The initiative combines corporate finance, accounting, actuarial science, and regulatory expertise to provide our clients with reinsurance solutions that help them meet their financial and strategic objectives.

As part of this global initiative, a fully dedicated unit was created in 2021 with the scope of defining, executing and monitoring the financial reinsurance strategy for our Life and Health clients in Southern Europe and Latin America.

Following the consolidation and recent success cases of the unit, we now want to further expand our expertise and are looking for a Senior Structurer that will provide robust technical knowledge and help to ensure excellence on all pricing/structuring related topics. You will work in a talented and high performing team that is fully committed to meeting the unit’s ambitious business expectations.

Your Job: 

• Executing structuring tasks of potential deals in the pipeline
• Developing a complete understanding of all technical related aspects of financial reinsurance treaties
• Serving as a technical and structuring reference for the Life and Health business unit
• Identifying existing technical improvement areas and defining potential solutions
• Developing a robust understanding of key local Life and Health markets across the region
• Challenging status quo and proposing corresponding alternatives
• Establishing and managing a deep and extent internal expert network
• Working closely with our Risk Management team to ensure fit with internal risk appetite
• Driving internal and external positioning with relevant stakeholders
• Participating in regional/global projects and working groups across MR

Your Profile:  

• Sound technical university degree with an economic or mathematical focus
• +10 years of professional experience in insurance/reinsurance actuarial valuation fields
• Professional actuarial qualification and/or experience is a plus
• In-depth knowledge of IFRS17 and Solvency II as well as structuring capital management solutions
• Practical experience in project management

• Excellence in working collaboratively and efficiently in often virtual and international group dynamics
• Result-oriented mindset combined with out-of-the-box thinking and organizational strength
• Excellent written and verbal communication in English, Spanish skills would be highly appreciated
