RIA LH Madrid, is responsible for Life & Health technical accounting for Latin America and Iberia. We are looking for a flexible and highly motivated Senior Client Accountant in this interesting, dynamic and international setting, providing guidance for the colleagues and contributing with expertise in the growing department.

YOUR JOB

  • Providing leadership to staff in the areas of reinsurance accounting/technical accounting 
  • Ensuring technical accounting quality assurance, incl. adequate commenting
  • Performing tasks in connection with the quarterly and annual closing, incl. ensuring compliance with deadlines
  • Assuming cross-team responsibility and driving know how exchange between the teams esp. on complex accounting topics incl. holding training sessions on her/his own, also in foreign languages (where applicable) in close cooperation with the other Seniors
  • Assisting the manager with his/her disciplinary responsibilities
  • Giving guidance or assuming responsibility for complex treaties (where applicable)
  • Assisting with or assuming a topic and process owner role in RIA (if applicable on a global level)
  • Contributing actively to/leading cross-unit projects and working groups (where applicable)
  • Proactively monitoring TA key performance indicators (overdue balances, unmatched cash, etc.) for the RIA LH Madrid and forwarding alerts to the manager
  • Being prepared to go on business trips for client visits in order to solve issues
  • Contributing proactively to updating and optimizing internal processes and interfaces in consultation with the GPOs
  • Driving the exchange with other IOs on technical accounting topics and processes
  • Central contact partner for RIA LH1.2 on all TA and closing matters
  • Being prepared to go the extra mile and react flexibly, whenever necessary, also in respect of working at home or in the office

YOUR PROFILE

  • Business studies or commercial training as an insurance specialist with advanced qualifications and specific professional experience
  • Sound knowledge of reinsurance and accounting
  • Good knowledge of the LH1.2 clients and markets
  • Solution-oriented, structured and creative in thought and action, as a role model for the team
  • Clear willingness to accept innovation, creativity and openness to new ideas and solutions
  • Exceptional analytical and conceptual skills and an ability to work without supervision
  • Comprehensive understanding of the RIA Global Processes and Rules
  • Very good and clear communication and presentation skills incl. good English language skills, both written and spoken
  • Good team worker with an interest in developing, maintaining and passing on expertise
  • Advanced conflict management skills
  • Sound know how of the various systems relevant to perform the Senior tasks
