Client Manager Executive for MAPFRE Business (m/f)

MR Madrid is looking for a Client Management Executive. This is a strategic leadership role for our division EULA4, responsible for managing the entire business relationship with MAPFRE. It is one of top clients for Munich Re worldwide and the largest client in EULA4. As Client Management Executive, you will be the trusted counterpart for our strategic partner MAPFRE.
Together with your team, you will be fully responsible for designing and executing our client strategy. A core part of your mandate will be to safeguard our leading position, manage our vast, diverse, and international portfolio across all lines of business, and proactively identify and develop new business opportunities with the different entities of the MAPFRE Group. It is your responsibility to ensure further sustainable and profitable growth. In this role you will be managing many internal and external stakeholders and lead and guide our efforts to further strengthen our strategic partnership with Mapfre.
This function reports to the CEO of MR Madrid.
Your Job:
- In close collaboration with the Mission Team, revise, drive, and monitor the client strategy that balances the client’s evolving needs with Munich Re’s business objectives.
 - Based on the client´s needs, identify and develop initiatives, generating new business for Munich Re while supporting MAPFRE in achieving their strategic objectives.
 - Lead your team in evaluating the business performance and driving the development of the strategic partnership.
 - Execute adequately the client segmentation to maximize value creation.
 - Build, manage, and continuously cultivate strong relationships with key stakeholders at all levels within the Mapfre Group.
 - Work closely with other MR entities (e.g. MEAG, ERGO, etc.) as well as internal and external units, (e.g. MAPFRE international entities) to design and deliver new traditional and non-traditional reinsurance solutions.
 - Ensure effective deployment of resources, maximizing staff capabilities to deliver the highest level of service and increase value for money perception.
 - Provide both functional and disciplinary leadership, fostering a culture of professional growth, knowledge-sharing, and capability development within your team.
 - Act as the main responsible of the whole client relationship across regions and functions, ensuring a consistent and homogeneous client vision.
 - Plan and execute client-focused marketing and positioning activities to strengthen Munich Re’s brand and value proposition.
 - Represent the company at key industry events and forums, strengthening the brand and reinforcing client trust, providing thought leadership opinion on market development, dynamics and trends.
 
Your Profile:
- Higher Degree with a strong foundation in Economics, Mathematics, Finance or a related discipline, with strong analytical and strategic foundation.
 - 10+ years of professional experience in the insurance or reinsurance industry, with solid UW-expertise and proven track record in commercial development and sales.
 - Demonstrated leadership skills with experience in people management, team development, and the ability to inspire, empower and drive performance.
 - High level of proactivity, creativity and innovation, combined with an entrepreneurial mindset and strategic vision.
 - Strong collaboration and team orientation, fostering trust and partnership across functions and all levels.
 - Exceptional negotiation and influencing skills, with the ability to engage effectively up to senior management level.
 - Strong emotional intelligence and well-developed interpersonal and social skills, enabling trusted relationships with diverse stakeholders.
 - Bilingual proficiency in Spanish and English, with excellent written and verbal communication skills. Additional languages are positively valued.
 - Deep knowledge of and familiarity with the Spanish culture.
 - Well-established internal network within Munich Re Group, with strong knowledge of internal processes, systems and tools.
 - Flexibility and availability to travel internationally as required.
 - Outstanding ability to represent Munich Re internally and externally (with clients, market events, institutions, etc.).
