The subsection Business Solutions - Investment Services delivers value to business areas Group Investment Management through the execution of transformation projects, application development, management of IT products, and consulting.
As a Working Student in Data Engineering and AI you will actively contribute to the development and delivery of innovative data-driven solutions in the financial sector. You will work closely with experienced engineers, consultants, and analysts on end-to-end data processing workflows, AI prototypes, and cloud-based applications.
Your Job
• Design, build, and maintain scalable data pipelines using PySpark, SQL, and cloud-native tools (e.g. Databricks, Azure, AWS)
• Preprocess and transform large datasets from investment and risk-related domains for reporting and analytics
• Collaborate with business analysts and BI developers to ensure seamless data integration into dashboards and visualizations (e.g. Power BI)
• Support the exploration and implementation of AI and machine learning approaches in real-world financial use cases
• Participate in agile development processes including sprint planning, code reviews, and stakeholder presentations
• Help document data processes and ensure compliance with data quality, governance, and security standards
Your Profile
• You are currently enrolled in a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree program in Computer Science, Data Science, Engineering, Business Informatics, or a related field
• Solid knowledge of Python and SQL; experience with PySpark, Power BI, or Databricks is a strong plus
• Initial hands-on experience with data engineering, cloud platforms (Azure, AWS), or AI/ML projects is highly valued
• A business-oriented mindset with interest in investment services, financial risk, or regulatory processes
• Ability to work independently, learn quickly, and collaborate in cross-functional teams
• Fluency in English (working language); German is a plus
• Option to work either 16 or 20 hours per week
• Available for at least 6 months starting 1st September, longer availability would be preferred
Students from countries outside the EU require a German residence-/work permit. The first master's degree may not have been completed before/during the entire internship.
