The Group Technology division provides global business units of Munich Re group including ERGO group with a modern IT infrastructure and application landscape and manages the full lifecycle of these services worldwide.

This role will be part of the Service Management Tower for Group Technology( IT 1.7), which is responsible for maintaining service stability and ensuring continuous business operations. The Tower delivers independent, transparent assessments of IT service performance, drives standardization of operational processes, and ensures compliance with regulatory requirements.

The ITSM Tool Competency Center (IT1.7.5) is responsible for the strategic development, architecture, governance, and operation of Munich Re’s ServiceNow platform.

Your Job

  • Define and evolve the ServiceNow platform architecture, technical roadmap, and development standards.
  • Act as the technical authority for the ServiceNow platform, ensuring architectural integrity, platform sustainability, and adherence to Group Technology standards.
  • Drive architecture decisions and ensure alignment with Enterprise and Solution Architecture principles.
  • Lead technical aspects of new initiatives and enhancements across ServiceNow products and business solutions.
  • Provide technical leadership to development teams, promoting best practices, reusable design patterns, and high-quality delivery.
  • Ensure compliance with corporate security, risk, and regulatory requirements.
  • Continuously improve platform stability, scalability, maintainability, and health score.
  • Act as a trusted advisor, coach, and mentor for developers and technical team members.
  • Review solution designs, code, integrations, and performance considerations to ensure sustainable and efficient implementations.
  • Collaborate closely with architects, product owners, process owners, and delivery teams across the organization.
  • Design, build, and oversee ServiceNow applications, modules, and integrations in line with enterprise standards.
  • Support testing activities, technical documentation, and release readiness.
  • Evaluate and optimize technology choices, resource utilization, and system integrations across the ServiceNow ecosystem.

Your Profile

  • University degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related discipline.
  • Extensive ServiceNow development and delivery experience (typically 7+ years), including experience as a Senior Developer or Technical Lead.
  • Strong hands-on expertise in designing, developing, testing, debugging, and documenting enterprise solutions.
  • Proven experience in at least four of the following ServiceNow domains: ITSM, ITOM, SecOps, IRM, SAM, HRSD, WSD, App Engine
  • Strong understanding of the Common Service Data Model (CSDM) and ServiceNow CMDB.
  • Experience working in global and agile delivery environments.
  • Solid knowledge of software engineering and product lifecycle management, including DevOps practices, Agile methodologies, and modern design principles.
  • Experience leading technical teams, coordinating development activities, and driving architectural decisions.
  • Demonstrated track record of delivering business value through successful ServiceNow implementations.
