Start your Munich Re journey within Reinsurance Accounting in the division RIA Operations for our primary and re-insurance subsidiary GLISE SE.
Munich Re, the world’s largest reinsurer, is looking for an intern in our re-insurance accounting team with accounting and/or tax expertise.
Becoming an intern will provide you the chance to gain insights into the processes and work practices of global accounting departments and their interfaces. The team you are supporting is responsible for processing the insurance accounting information for complex business contracts. Your internship can be first (next to) fulltime and then switch to part-time. It should overall last at least six months.
The position is based in Munich.
Your Job
- You will work with technical accountants to identify data issues and develop optimal solutions
- Assessment of special issues relating to insurance premium tax in an international environment
- Supporting the development of process descriptions regarding Tax (IPT & VAT) in an international B2B environment
- Assisting in data analysis and preparation work
- Assisting in the implementation of automation solutions
Your Profile
- Undergraduate or postgraduate in business informatics, business/economics with a focus on tax, finance, accounting, law or a comparable field of study
- Analytical skills and quick comprehension
- A structured, organized and independent approach to work
- Affinity for numbers and process-oriented work
- Interest in developing and implementing new IT solutions (IT applications, tools, digitalization, etc.)
- Proficient in MS Office applications/Microsoft 365
- Very good written and spoken English and basic knowledge of German
- High level of teamwork skills in multicultural environments
