This role will be part of the Business Technology Tower for Group Technology, responsible for delivering mission-critical, data-driven, and digital solutions across all business segments and subsidiaries. This includes AI decision support tools, generative AI models (such as Large Language Models), and other data-driven solutions. As the Solution Architect for the EXCITE Platform (a portfolio of reusable technical components to enable our partners to build their business applications more efficiently), you define and drive the architectural direction of a portfolio of digital products focused on reusable business and technical capabilities. You work closely with the EXCITE Platform Manager, Product Owners, Product Architects, and engineering teams to align business goals with technology strategy. You promote consistency, reuse, operational excellence, and long-term sustainability across the EXCITE landscape.
Your job includes being highly involved in one EXCITE product in particular, which is CIAM (Customer Identity and Access Management). You will drive the design, implementation, and optimization of our CIAM infrastructure. You will be responsible for creating seamless, secure, and scalable authentication and authorization experiences for our millions of customers. You will bridge the gap between business requirements and technical execution, ensuring that our CIAM platform meets high-performance demands while maintaining rigorous security and privacy standards.
Your Job
- Define and evolve the architectural vision, principles, standards, and roadmap for the EXCITE product portfolio.
- Guide and influence architectural decisions across products, partnering closely with Product Architects to ensure alignment while respecting product ownership and autonomy.
- Translate business objectives and requirements into scalable, maintainable, and future-ready solution designs.
- Advise business and technology stakeholders on architectural options, trade-offs, risks, and investment decisions, communicating complex concepts in a clear and accessible manner.
- Identify and promote opportunities for reuse of business capabilities, technical components, integration patterns, and engineering practices across multiple products.
- Drive operational excellence through automation, observability, SRE practices, AI-enabled operations, and continuous improvement.
- Lead the architectural adoption of strategic enterprise initiatives, including CIAM capabilities, while ensuring alignment with security, governance, and enterprise standards.
- Design end-to-end CIAM solutions that support complex user journeys, including multi-factor authentication (MFA), social login, progressive profiling, and identity federation (OIDC, SAML, OAuth2).
- Lead the evaluation, selection, and integration of enterprise CIAM platforms (e.g., Auth0, Okta, Ping Identity, ForgeRock) to align with our long-term digital roadmap.
- Work closely with Product Managers, Security Operations (SecOps), DevOps, and application engineering teams to ensure CIAM solutions are integrated effectively into the CI/CD pipeline and the broader technology ecosystem.
Your Profile
- Proven experience as a Solution Architect, Domain Architect, Lead Architect, or similar role in complex digital product environments.
- 7+ years of experience in Identity and Access Management, with at least 3 years specifically focused on CIAM architecture.
- Strong expertise in modern software architecture, cloud-native technologies, APIs, integrations, distributed systems, and platform engineering practices.
- Experience influencing architectural direction across multiple teams and stakeholders without direct line-management authority.
- Practical experience with SRE, observability, automation, operational excellence, and AI-assisted operations.
- Strong understanding of security architecture, IAM/CIAM concepts, and enterprise integration patterns.
- Outstanding ability to understand business needs and translate them into pragmatic, scalable technical solutions.
- Excellent communication, facilitation, and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to explain complex technical topics in simple business language and build consensus across diverse teams.
- Multiple years of experience in maintaining and designing a global CIAM system (Especially using AAD B2C).
- Deep expertise in OAuth 2.0, OpenID Connect (OIDC), and SAML 2.0.
- Extensive experience with modern CIAM SaaS platforms or self-hosted identity solutions.
- Proficiency in API security, JWT (JSON Web Tokens), and secure credential storage.
- Strong understanding of web and mobile application security best practices.
