We are looking for an ambitious Senior Property Underwriter who will be in charge of challenging and fast growing key clients in France, Belgium and Luxembourg. Together with a highly motivated and successful market team you have the clear mission to continue developing our traditional and non-traditional portfolio. We expect our staff to be highly independent, motivated, proactive self-starters and team players who will help us meet our divisional unit’s ambitious targets.
YOUR JOB
- Underwriting of Property treaty reinsurance business for complex traditional accounts (including structuring, pricing and wording assessment)
- Providing guidance to UW colleagues and experts, promoting consistent UW quality and developing team know-how
- Driving the continuous development of market knowledge and underwriting approaches
- Frequent client and broker interaction and proactive contribution in negotiations in order to expand existing client relationships as well as to identify and develop new business
- Drafting and implementing client and market strategies together with market teams
- Holistic understanding of the Property business of your clients with the goal to understand clients' needs and concerns and to identify business potential
- Development and consistent implementation of concepts and processes for reporting, monitoring and performance- management of traditional and non-traditional business
- Proactive support of the management in the professional and personal development of the overall team and individual Underwriters based on current and future needs
- Active contribution to cross-functional projects in the overall P&C UW team
YOUR PROFILE
- Excellent University degree or insurance-related apprenticeship in combination with in depth professional experience
- Extensive experience in Property underwriting, ideally in various markets, in-depth knowledge of the relevant MR underwriting tools and willingness to work with non-standard pricing tools
- Experience in application of external catastrophe modeling tools preferred (RMS RiskLink DLM)
- High level of dedication and strong customer focus, affinity for developing solutions together with clients
- Creativity, strategic thinking and strong communication skills
- Good team player, willing to share expertise
- Ability to supervise, guide and train others, and to work effectively with people at varying levels within the organization
- Ability to build personal customer relationships
- Analytical thinking, very pragmatic and solution-oriented
- Very good command of written and spoken English and French
- Willingness to travel regularly and to contribute to seminars, workshops and client projects
