This role will be part of the Infrastructure Operations Tower for Group Technology (IT 1.8), which is responsible for delivering stable, cost-effective operational services for IT infrastructure and in-scope applications, including onsite IT and provider management. The Tower focuses on continuous optimisation, standardisation, and automation to enhance service delivery and operational efficiency.

As the Cloud FinOps Senior Service Manager within our Cloud Center of Excellence, you will be responsible for the end-to-end cloud financial management services supporting AWS and Azure environments globally. You will manage service delivery and ensure alignment of cloud financial governance with business needs, driving collaboration across Leadership, Product Teams, Finance/Controlling, Engineering and Procurement. You will collaborate with global cloud teams, business units and controlling/ finance to foster a culture of cloud financial accountability and transparency.
Your role will oversee FinOps tooling and you will integrate Cloud specific requirements into existing workflows and processes to maximize cloud cost efficiency at scale.
Your Job
- Lead and manage the Cloud FinOps service delivery function, ensuring high-quality, timely and effective financial management of cloud resources across global teams.
- Serve as the primary liaison between cloud infrastructure teams, business stakeholders and controlling to ensure cloud spend aligns with organizational goals.
- Oversee cloud cost reporting, forecasting and budgeting processes, delivering meaningful insights and recommendations to senior leadership and business units.
- Collaborate with procurement and vendor management to optimize cloud contracts, pricing and consumption models.
- Monitor overall commitments, expenditures and credits, proactively identifying and reporting potential risks in a timely manner.
- Implement and evolve cost allocation, chargeback and showback models that promote ownership and accountability for cloud spend.
- Support onboarding (new entities), cloud adoption, enablement and communication initiatives to embed FinOps principles and best practices throughout the organization.
- Drive continuous improvement of FinOps processes by leveraging the FinOps tool “Cloudability” and native cloud cost management tools.
- Manage risk related to cloud spend and compliance, advising on governance policies and frameworks within the FinOps domain.
- Represent the FinOps function in cross-functional cloud governance councils and strategic planning forums.
- Manage and monitor operational key metrics (SLAs, KPI trends) and identification of adjustments from a customer respectively user perspective.
- Provide thought leadership to enable process improvement.
Your Profile
- University degree in IT or business information management or equivalent qualification.
- 5+ of experience of delivering results in a fast paced, global and regulated business environment with regards to IT infrastructure.
- You also bring in 3+ years of experience managing external service providers.
- Proven experience in managing cloud financial operations or FinOps services in a global enterprise environment.
- Extensive experience in managing cross-functional teams and collaborating in a matrix organization.
- Strong analytical, communication and presentation skills, capable of translating financial data into actionable business insights.
- Solid understanding of AWS and Azure cloud platforms, including pricing models, billing and cost optimization strategies, including contract details.
- Strong financial acumen with demonstrated experience in forecasting, budgeting and variance analysis related to cloud consumption.
- Thorough knowledge of FinOps principles per finops.org foundation: cloud spending visibility, allocation, optimization and governance.
- Flexibility and bringing a curious and creative mindset, open to new things and able to propose innovative ideas.
- Excellent collaboration and communications skills to deal with senior leaders, stakeholders and executives and to build and nurture business relationships.
- Outstanding ability to think in a global meta-organizational, networked manner.
