Description: 

This role will be part of the Investment & Asset Management Tower for Group Technology, responsible for ensuring the availability, reliability, and maintenance of all investment and asset management systems, applications, and platforms. The Tower manages the seamless transition of new systems or projects to steady-state operations and takes ownership of key business relationships, providing accurate metrics on uptime, issues, and resolutions.
The section Business Solutions – Investment Management delivers value to the business area Group Investment Management through the execution of transformation projects, application development, management of IT products, and consulting for MEAG, GIM, and LH6.

We are seeking an experienced and visionary Senior Program Manager for Gen AI & Data Foundation to join our team in Munich. You will be responsible for managing a portfolio of high-impact, complex projects and programs focused on the development and implementation of Gen AI and Data Foundation solutions. Your Job

  • Lead and manage programs for the design and implementation of Gen AI & Data Foundation solutions across the Munich Re Group, ERGO, and MEAG.
  • Oversee the identification, planning, and coordination of related projects with high risk, investment, and complexity, ensuring alignment with IT strategy and objectives.
  • Define program priorities with key stakeholders, proactively adapting resource needs to program goals.
  • Establish and maintain effective governance arrangements, risk management, and comprehensive reporting and communication for all program activities.
  • Provide organizational strategy for project management methodologies, ensuring effective project control, change control, risk management, and testing processes.
  • Take responsibility for the definition, documentation, and successful completion of complex projects with significant business impact.
  • Select and advise on methods and tools, including iterative and agile techniques, ensuring effective project and program delivery.
  • Foster an environment where program and project teams can be effective, removing impediments and enabling collaboration.
  • Engage and coordinate internal resources and external partners, ensuring resource availability and allocation.
  • Collaborate with business and IT stakeholders to find optimal solutions and ensure their end-to-end implementation.
  • Perform risk management to minimize potential risks and their negative impacts.
  • Guarantee adherence to Munich Re’s program and project management standards.
  • Create and maintain comprehensive program and project documentation.
  • Drive continuous improvement and innovation in Gen AI and Data Foundation initiatives.

Your Profile

  • University degree in information technology, business administration, or related fields.
  • >10 years professional experience in project and program management, including leadership of complex, high-impact programs.
  • Proven track record of delivering AI and data-driven solutions that create real business value within defined scope, time, and budget.
  • Certification in project/program management (e.g., PMP, PgMP, Agile/Scrum Master) is highly desirable.
  • Strong experience in technical development and solution delivery life cycles, especially in AI, data platforms, and cloud technologies.
  • Exceptional leadership, communication, structuring, and facilitation skills, with a strong willingness to take responsibility.
  • Excellent organization and time management skills, with the ability to apply IT risk and security considerations.
  • Demonstrated ability to work globally across entities and cultures.
  • Domain knowledge in asset management, AI, and data platforms is a plus.
  • Fluent command of Business English.
