Central Reserving (CR) uses quantitative and qualitative methods to perform and oversee the loss reserve analyses for Munich Re’s group-wide non-life business. This includes continuous monitoring of the reserve position as well as the further development of actuarial methods, underlying systems and tools. Additional responsibilities include the financial reporting on non-life technical provisions.
The IFRS17 Plan & Solvency II team in Central Reserving ensures accurate processing of IFRS17 Plan and Solvency II data, delivers actuarial insights based on advanced quantitative and technical analysis and translates these insights into reporting and business contexts – working in close collaboration with the global reserving community and ensuring efficient processes.

YOUR JOB
Ensuring timely and high-quality Solvency II reporting and IFRS17 planning for Munich Re’s non-life segment by
- Coordinating and monitoring data deliveries across multiple stakeholders, fostering smooth collaboration and promoting strong communication in an interdisciplinary team
- Ensuring efficient execution and quality assurance of Solvency II and IFRS17 plan processing
- Developing and enhancing actuarial tools, reporting and processes to strengthen valuation, analysis and reconciliation by ensuring standard compliant concepts and efficiencies
- Performing actuarial analyses of Solvency II and IFRS17 key figures and sensitivities, including manifold detailed actuarial calculations and reconciliation to balance sheet and profit & loss benchmark values, along with supporting internal and external reporting
- Shaping and preparing stakeholder specific insights for senior management, controlling, business units, auditors and the Group Actuarial Function
YOUR PROFILE
- University degree with quantitative focus (e.g. mathematics, actuarial science, information technology or economics)
- Experience in an actuarial role (e.g. in Reserving, Pricing, Risk Management, Controlling, Underwriting, Actuarial Audit). Solvency II and IFRS17 knowledge is a strong asset.
- Proven expertise in financial mathematics and actuarial science, with a demonstrated ability to apply theoretical concepts to business-driven actuarial analysis
- Excellent analytical and conceptual skills, as well as the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical audiences
- Strong knowledge of R, SQL and Power BI
- Intrinsically motivated team player focusing on pragmatic development of innovative concepts and solutions
- Strong written and verbal communication in English
