The Section Digital Products MR within the Business Technology Department at Munich Re is responsible for delivering digitalization initiatives across the full life cycle. We build digital business: From ideation, prototyping and digital product design through to production-quality delivery of scalable products. Based on business needs we implement highly reusable, multi-tenant insurance and risk assessment platforms in the cloud.
To strengthen our team, we are looking for a Project Manager with a current focus on Wording Universe, Munich Re’s FutuRe based initiative to establish a comprehensive wording assessment platform for our Non-Life Underwriting Units.
This position will be located in Munich.
Your Job
- You manage challenging medium and large IT projects according to agile methodologies (OneEssentials).
- You coordinate the creation of project charters and effort estimations within the budget approval process.
- You initiate projects according to approved project charters and particularly manage the staffing of the project teams within the provider strategy of Global IT.
- You create project plans and manage their execution to deliver new IT solutions for our business challenges.
- You own the project budget and reporting and ensure delivery of project goals in time and budget.
- You own the project methodology and way of working and are responsible for executing the project in compliance with internal and external regulations.
- You also organize a stable, compliant and cost-efficient run of the product in line with agile DevOps principles but within the framework of a regulated industry.
Your Profile
- Several years of experience in IT, preferably in application development and hence in-depth knowledge of the entire agile software development and product life cycle.
- Track record of successful project implementations that delivered value to the business, resulting in measurable business outcomes.
- Excellent knowledge of agile project management methodologies, in particular OneEssentials.
- Excellent communication skills, strong experience in the management of diverging interests of various stakeholders, ability to set priorities in a pragmatic and efficient way
- Ability to work in global and virtual teams with a highly diverse culture.
- Strong commitment, desire to drive teams and topics.
- Creativity, cost consciousness, can-do mentality and desire for life-long learning .
- Fluent in English and preferably German.
- Willingness to travel occasionally.
