Munich Re’s innovation strategy is deeply rooted in its core (re)insurance and specialty business. The central Innovation team, part of the Strategy & Innovation division, spearheads innovation efforts within the existing business model and works closely with Business and Central Units. The team delivers innovation excellence, primarily to Non-Life Reinsurance Business Units, while also fostering a vibrant innovation community across the entire Reinsurance and Specialty Group.
To support the execution of this strategy, we are looking for a candidate with outstanding project management expertise and a passion for innovation.
Your Job
- Lead strategic and innovative projects, advising Business Units on implementing and scaling innovative solutions
- Collaborate with Business Units to identify, develop, and initiate new innovation ideas and projects (e.g., via ideation workshops)
- Develop and provide an innovation framework that serves as a blueprint for innovation management excellence (processes, methods, tools, etc.)
- Build, manage, and sustain an active global innovation community across the Reinsurance and Specialty Group, in collaboration with relevant stakeholders
- Design and facilitate interaction and exchange across the Group to strengthen knowledge transfer and transparency of innovation activities
- Engage selectively with external innovation stakeholders, e.g., through participation in conferences
This role offers the opportunity to combine focus areas such as innovation consulting, managing innovation programs and community building across Munich Re.
Your Profile
- Several years of experience at a top-tier consulting firm, leading (large-scale) projects and advising clients
- Strong passion for innovation and a tech‑savvy mindset; relevant experience with innovation initiatives, including enhancing business models and processes through technology and data
- Strong soft skills (“consultant toolkit”), excellent communication abilities, and initial practical experience in innovation techniques
- Strong networking capabilities and an integrative, collaborative personality
- Dynamic, dedicated, and committed to working independently on rapidly evolving innovation initiatives
- Experience in the insurance industry is a plus
- Agile mindset and willingness to travel
- Excellent command of English; additional languages are an advantage
