This role will be part of Chief of Staff Tower (IT 1.1) for Global Technology at Munich Re Group, which ensures that our technology solutions align with the business strategies of ERGO, Global Specialty, MEAG, and Reinsurance. The team drives strategic transformation, oversees financial planning and reporting, and ensures global IT governance and legal compliance across all entities.
Responsible for ensuring transparency, consistency, and effective reporting across the IT project portfolio by consolidating data, monitoring key KPIs, and supporting governance processes. Acts as a central coordination and analysis function, enabling informed decision-making through structured reporting and stakeholder alignment.
Your Job
- Manage and further develop the Group-wide IT Project Portfolio Management (PPM) framework, including governance, processes, and tool landscape (e.g. Clarity)
- Drive portfolio transparency and management reporting by consolidating and analysing key KPIs (i.e. financials, delivery status)
- Ensure alignment of the IT project portfolio with strategic objectives, investment priorities, and transformation initiatives
- Act as a central interface across multiple stakeholders (e.g. Delivery Towers, Finance, …) in a matrix organization
- Support top-management decision-making by providing actionable insights, highlighting risks, and deriving clear recommendations
- Own and continuously improve portfolio reporting (incl. Power BI dashboards) to ensure data quality, consistency, and usability
- Contribute to the evolution of Clarity PPM (Broadcom) as a strategic platform for portfolio steering and reporting
- Coordinate portfolio planning activities, including demand intake, prioritization, and capacity alignment
- Challenge and review project and program inputs to ensure data consistency and reliability across the portfolio
Your Profile
- University degree in Computer Science, Business Informatics, or a comparable field
- Several years of professional experience in IT Project Portfolio Management, Project Management, PMO, or strategic reporting
- Strong understanding of PPM processes, governance models, and portfolio steering mechanisms
- Proven experience in data-driven management reporting (e.g. Power BI, advanced Excel, Clarity or similar tools)
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to translate complex data into actionable management insights
- Experience in financial portfolio steering, including budget tracking, forecasting, and capacity management
- Familiar with working in large, international and matrix organizations with distributed ownership structures
- Strong stakeholder management skills, with the ability to engage senior management and challenge constructively
- Structured and solution-oriented mindset with a high level of ownership and accountability
- Excellent communication skills in English (German is a strong plus)
