Munich Re Service GmbH - Lead Product Advisor (m/f/d)*
München, BY, DE
About Us
Passion is at the heart of everything we do – whether it’s our dedication to family, friends, the arts, sports, or, most importantly, our profession. At Munich Re Risk Management Partners (RMP), the climate change and risk management solutions unit of the world’s leading reinsurer, our passion drives us to redefine climate risk solutions on a global scale. Our modular climate risk offering is built to meet the complex needs of insurers, banks, asset managers, corporates, and real estate investors. Through our SaaS platform, Location Risk Intelligence, we deliver an advanced geospatial solution that empowers clients with location-specific climate risk data worldwide, enabling them to make informed decisions in underwriting, investments, and climate risk reporting.
Alongside our digital platform, Product Advisory develops and delivers client-specific engagements and supports with bespoke and complex use cases that extend beyond the standard capabilities of Location Risk Intelligence. We are looking for a Lead Product Advisor who combines consulting discipline, analytical strength and client orientation – with experience in the insurance and banking sector. If you’re passionate about climate risk and resilience and helping clients get the most out of our platform and data, we’d love to hear from you!
Your Role
As Lead Product Advisor, you will:
- Identify, shape and lead complex advisory engagements that address client needs beyond the standard capabilities of the Location Risk Intelligence platform.
- Analyse and translate physical climate risk data and methodologies into clear, decision-ready recommendations for clients across insurance and banking sectors.
- Lead client meetings, workshops and stakeholder interactions, building trusted relationships with technical and business decision-makers.
- Support Sales on bespoke and complex use cases, including solution scoping, proposal development, methodological questions, and client presentations.
- Coordinate advisory opportunities, priorities and delivery across the practice, working closely with Product Management, Modelling & Analytics, Sales and other contributors.
- Develop and improve advisory approaches, quality standards, delivery governance, templates and reusable client assets to ensure consistent, high-quality project delivery.
- Contribute to business development by managing the advisory pipeline and supporting the conversion of client needs into well-defined engagements.
- Feed client insights, recurring needs and market observations back into the further development of Location Risk Intelligence products, services and advisory offerings.
Your Profile
- At least 7 years of relevant professional experience in consulting, specialist advisory, climate risk, financial services, risk management or a related field.
- Demonstrated experience structuring ambiguous client questions and leading complex engagements from scoping through delivery.
- Strong knowledge of the insurance and/or banking sector and the ability to connect physical climate risk insights with client-specific risk management and business decisions.
- Deep understanding of physical climate risk, financial impact quantification or a closely related domain.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to challenge technical outputs and translate complex content into clear, actionable and audience-appropriate recommendations.
- Excellent communication, presentation and stakeholder management skills, with confidence engaging senior client and internal audiences.
- Commercial awareness and experience supporting business development and sales, including proposals, client acquisition and solution design.
- A proactive, collaborative and self-directed working style, with the ability to create structure, take ownership and drive topics forward across organisational boundaries.
- Experience coordinating contributors, assuring delivery quality, mentoring colleagues and developing reusable methods or assets.
- University degree in economics, finance, insurance, risk management, environmental science, data science or a comparable discipline.
