Munich Re Markets GmbH develops non-traditional reinsurance solutions involving the transfer of market risk; the development and production of savings, retirement, and investment products; the transfer and transformation of extreme risks; and the development of new or alternative asset classes. We execute non-traditional business addressing various corporate finance and general risk management needs of clients, particularly in the life insurance industry but also beyond. We are looking for a Senior Strategy Consultant to support the development, evaluation, and execution of Munich Re Markets’ strategic priorities. You will work closely with the Global Head of Munich Re Markets and the division’s business leaders to identify growth opportunities, assess market developments, improve organizational performance, and drive strategic transformation initiatives. Combining strong analytical capabilities with business acumen and project management skills, you will develop actionable recommendations that support long-term value creation.

The position is based in Munich.

Your Job

• Conduct strategic assessments and identify opportunities for growth, diversification, and operational improvement
• Analyze global market trends, industry developments, and competitive dynamics to support strategic planning and decision-making
• Develop strategic frameworks, business cases, and actionable recommendations for executive decision-making
• Help define strategic objectives, target operating models, and implementation roadmaps
• Evaluate organizational structures, operating models, and business processes and recommend improvements
• Lead strategic projects and transformation initiatives in a global environment, ensuring effective implementation in collaboration with relevant stakeholders
• Prepare insight-driven presentations, reports, and decision papers for senior management and the Board of Directors
• Plan and facilitate strategy workshops and management discussions
• Travel internationally as required to support the successful execution of projects across the global organization

Your Profile

• University degree, preferably at Master’s level, in business administration, economics, finance, engineering, or a related field
  
• At least five to seven years of experience in strategy consulting, management consulting, corporate strategy, or business transformation
  
• Demonstrated experience in leading complex projects and effectively managing senior stakeholders
  
• Experience in financial services, insurance, banking, asset management, or another regulated industry is an advantage
  
• Strong analytical and quantitative capabilities, combined with the ability to structure and solve complex business problems
  
• Sound understanding of strategic planning methodologies, business frameworks, and organizational transformation
  
• Strategic and commercially minded, with a proactive, self-motivated, and results-oriented approach
  
• Flexible and collaborative working style, with the ability to manage changing priorities and work effectively across locations, cultures, and time zones
  
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English; additional language skills, particularly German, are an advantage, as is willingness to travel internationally
