This role will be part of Chief of Staff Tower (IT 1.1) for Global Technology at Munich Re Group, which ensures that our technology solutions align with the business strategies of ERGO, Global Specialty, MEAG, and Reinsurance. The team drives strategic transformation, oversees financial planning and reporting, and ensures global IT governance and legal compliance across all entities.
IT Financial Management is recruiting a Portfolio Manager to offer strategic support and consultation to senior IT leaders, focusing on business case development and execution, supporting financial planning and forecasting and close collaboration with the finance teams in the CFO areas.
YOUR JOB
- Internal IT strategic alignment and steering for the CTO, CIO, and tower leadership
- Support IT management in business case development and execution, as well as forecast and planning processes of the business segments
- Provide expert advice to IT management on investment decisions and the financial implications of new contracts
- Facilitate clear and concise communication between IT management and supported business segments regarding financial targets and target achievement
- Coordinating with other workstreams in Project Purple, including Legal, HR, International Onboarding, and Sourcing/Shoring, to ensure seamless dependency management
- Assisting the new IT Tower Heads in establishing robust financial management practices during the transformation phase
- Assist in the implementation of the future financial processes within Group Technology and collaborate with relevant finance departments to ensure a seamless rollout
- Tracking the progress and status of the finance workstream's project portfolio to ensure timely and successful delivery
YOUR PROFILE
- University degree in an economics discipline or information technologies with excellent academic credentials
- Several years of experience in project portfolio management and finance
- Proven experience in transformation projects in an international environment
- Strong client and service orientation with a confident and courteous manner
- High degree of analytical and problem solving capabilities as well as conceptual skills, ability to identify client needs and to develop innovative and effective solutions
- Ability to depict complex topics in a clear and simple manner
- Highly proactive approach, strong commitment and assertiveness
- Strong and convincing communicator, highly skilled in dealing with multiple interfaces, especially in the international organization
- High commitment to responsibility and ownership
- Very good knowledge of MS Office (PowerPoint, Outlook and Word) and communication tools (Teams etc.)

- High degree of emotional intelligence, contributing to positive overall experience and performance of the team, exceptional interpersonal and communication skills with senior individuals
- Organizational talent and self-starter, independent and careful way of working
- Excellent command of written and spoken business English
