Description: 

Munich Re’s F&C Energy & Construction department (GC/NA 4.1) is in charge of steering the worldwide Energy & Construction (E&C) portfolio with a major focus on insuring the power, oil & gas, mining and civil engineering industries. The unit comprises two main areas of responsibility. One is a CUO role responsible for setting the risk appetite, global standards, IT tool landscape and similar functions, all in close collaboration with the wider E&C network in our regional offices. The other is a P+L role, writing our insurance products through our teams, predominantly in London and Munich, with a focus on Europe and North America.
The main purpose of the position is to support the Head of Department in fulfilling the major tasks as outlined above and to ensure the smooth functioning of the various tasks and projects being spearheaded by the department.

 

YOUR JOB

  • Support the Head of Department in his multiple roles and tasks.
  • Organise meetings both in Munich and abroad, be that at our own or the clients’ offices, including both in-person as well as virtually via Teams.
  • Interact with multiple stakeholders to successfully organise business trips (from booking to expense management) including internal staff as well as external brokers, corporate insureds and cedents.
  • Support our teams in the organisation of client events (e.g. Oktoberfest or seminars).
  • Create and update marketing materials (e.g. department presentations, organisation charts, flyers, etc.)
  • Help organise team events (e.g. quarterly meetings or offsites).
  • Attend Jour Fixes and draft meeting minutes in English
  • Maintain important documents (e.g. underwriting authorities or building access) and ensure these are always up-to-date.

 

YOUR PROFILE

  • Able to work with multiple stakeholders in an international environment
  • Business level proficiency in German and English, both in written and verbal form.
  • In-depth experience in all Office 365 applications and ideally MR internal tools as Concur, COUPA and Meetago.
  • Ability to work in high-stress situations for example in the context of hosting client events.
  • High service orientation and thoroughness required
  • Self-organisation and good communication skills
