Munich Re's Central Life Reserving (CLR) division oversees the reserving and financial reporting within the Life and Health Reinsurance Portfolio. Our team plays a crucial role in Life and Health Reinsurance’s success by providing reliable valuations and insightful analysis. The aspect of overseeing reserving not only involves best estimate cash flows but also risk margin calculations. For risk margin calculations, an important role within CLR is the management of our internal risk model.

It is with a view of our role in relation to the internal risk model that we are looking for enthusiastic and motivated individuals who can assist in various risk model related tasks. You will have a part in the execution of important analysis and deliveries that will be used by senior management as a basis for decision-making. There will be a wide range of challenging topics for a global reinsurer that will require strong quantitative skills and risk assessment knowledge.


Your Job

 

  • Assisting CLR in the various tasks related to the internal risk model, incl. study of results from a risk perspective, delivery of risk reports.
  • Helping further development of our analytical tools – supporting IT projects/tools as needed, such as our cash flow database, risk model kernel, etc.
  • Solvency II reporting and result analysis.
  • Other supportive work.

 

 

Your Profile

 

  • Master student in Mathematic, IT or other scientific department.
  • Strong analytical skills together with high motivation and a solution oriented mindset.
  • Experience with programming is a must, preferably Matlab but Python and/or R is a plus.
  • Actuarial and risk modelling knowledge is an advantage.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Very good command of spoken and written English in addition to the willingness to work in an international environment.
  • Microsoft Office, especially Excel, is a must.

 

 

Students from countries outside the EU require a German residence-/work permit. The first master's degree may not have been completed before/during the entire internship.
