As the ”Corporate Underwriting Cyber” department, we support Munich Re Group’s client facing units with our multi-disciplinary cyber insurance expertise and facilitate writing profitable cyber insurance. We are accountable for the risk management function for our worldwide cyber business in reinsurance and primary insurance. This includes assessing accumulation potentials, maintaining portfolio transparency, developing underwriting tools and standards, and driving projects on cyber innovation and investments.

We are looking for a passionate and engaged intern who supports our cyber actuarial services team. Among other things, the team builds and maintains proprietary applications to facilitate the risk-adequate underwriting of cyber risks. Cyber (re)insurance is one of Munich Re’s strategic areas of growth.

Are you a tech-savvy person, who would like to be a part of an agile, international and multi-disciplinary team as an intern for at least 6 months (first 2 months full-time, 16 hours thereafter)? Your Job

 

  • Understand the cyber underwriting process of Munich Re.
  • Develop a test concept geared towards fostering the reliability of our cyber underwriting tool.
  • Closely communicate with developers and product owners to set up and document testing approaches and testing measures for a highly relevant application.
  • Use state-of-the-art technology to set up automated testing routines.
  • Ad hoc testing of new features as they are being developed.
  • Support tool development process by taking responsibility for specific programming tasks.

 

Your Profile

 

  • University studies in science, technology, engineering or mathematics (STEM)
  • At least one year of programming experience (e.g. JavaScript, Python, ...) and web development and willingness to learn more
  • Experience with  automated, behaviour-driven testing (BDT) of software would be a plus
  • Very good command of English and/or German (intermediate command of English is a must)
  • Strong analytical and conceptional skills with a focus on practical application
  • Reliable mind-set, comfortable with communicating with contacts outside of our team

 

Students from countries outside the EU require a German residence-/work permit. The first master's degree may not have been completed before/during the entire internship.
