Our department is responsible for Underwriting Property Reinsurance treaties for clients in the UK, the Nordics, and the Netherlands – exciting and competitive (re)insurance markets. We work with a diverse portfolio of clients who require individualized and complex reinsurance programs. Our team works closely with the ANDEX team, who are responsible for developing and maintaining ANDEX, a specialized platform designed to manage and analyse reinsurance underwriting data. Together, we shape the platform to meet our business requirements and utilize its data capabilities to enhance our underwriting processes, driving better outcomes and more informed decision-making.
Your Job
As an intern in our team, you will work on underwriting and data related projects, mainly ANDEX to expand your skills and knowledge. Your responsibilities will include:
- Assisting with data entry and analysis using e.g. Excel templates and Munich Re ANDEX data platform
- Supporting underwriters with data preparation for the renewal
- Transforming and enriching data using R, Python, or PowerQuery
- Reviewing and understanding different data structures to enable later analysis
- Analyzing entered data using Python, Databricks, and Power BI
Your Profile
We are looking for a highly motivated and engaged intern who is interested in the world of (re)insurance and data analysis. The ideal candidate should have a strong curiosity and a keen interest in innovative technologies and data analysis methods. We expect you to:
- Be studying or have studied Computer Science, Mathematics, Physics, or a related field
- Have an interest in data analysis and the application of data analysis tools such as Power BI, Python, SQL, PowerQuery or R
- Profound Excel knowledge, ideally experience with VBA
- Have a meticulous and independent work style
- Enjoy working in a team
- Have a quick grasp of new concepts
- Have good written and spoken English skills

The duration of your internship is three month starting September 15, 2025 full-time and then potentially continuing part-time with flexible scheduling.
Students from countries outside the EU require a German residence-/work permit. The first master's degree may not have been completed before/during the entire internship.
