Global Procurement Excellence Consultant (m/f/d)*

Procurement Excellence & Operations is responsible for driving the global transformation and continuous improvement of procurement at Munich Re. The function covers the full spectrum of end-to-end Source-to-Pay processes, including Procure-to-Pay operations, Supplier Information Management (SIM/MDM), digital platforms and tools (Coupa, SAP, Celonis), analytics & KPIs, and change management.
Within this context, the Procurement Excellence Consultant contributes to global initiatives that enhance efficiency, transparency, and compliance across the procurement organization. The role is designed to work flexibly across all focus areas, depending on project needs, and offers the opportunity to grow into a subject matter expert in areas such as P2P, Supplier Information Management, Change Management, Analytics, KPIs, Governance or similar.
Your Job
- Manage the delivery of global procurement excellence initiatives and help advance process standardization, efficiency and compliance across the organization
- Identify automation, self-service and AI opportunities across P2P-controlled processes, challenge upstream and downstream processes and design choices, and help shape robust business cases and transformation roadmaps
- Contribute your expertise to process mapping, maturity assessments and benchmarking across procurement functions and regions
- Coordinate the design and global rollout of process standards, KPIs and policies, working closely with relevant stakeholders
- Turn KPI insights and process intelligence findings into practical improvements and clear management reporting, including Quarterly Business Reviews
- Use data analysis and reporting to monitor procurement performance and uncover opportunities for continuous improvement
- Collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders in Procurement, Finance, IT, Legal and HR to deliver global projects successfully
- Capture and share best practices, helping to strengthen knowledge exchange across the procurement community
- Lead change management and training activities that enable the successful adoption of new tools, processes and policies
Your Profile
- University degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and relevant professional experience
- Relevant professional experience gained in procurement, consulting, or digital or operational excellence projects
- A solid understanding of procurement processes, operational frameworks and compliance requirements
- Experience in process analysis, process performance measurement methodologies, project management and transformation initiatives
- An analytical and structured approach, combined with strong problem-solving skills
- Proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint; experience with Power BI, Coupa or Celonis would be an advantage
- Strong communication and collaboration skills, with confidence working in international settings
- Strong professional English skills; German language skills would be an advantage
- Willingness to travel occasionally
