MR F&C is a global business unit responsible for single risk business written as facultative reinsurance or direct. Since its foundation in 2019, MR F&C has significantly and profitably grown its portfolio. As one integrated F&C team we apply risk expertise and technology to deliver predictable support and solutions to our clients, reduce complexity and remain a reliable bottom line contributor for Munich Re. As part of its strategy, F&C has launched a significant initiative to build a new tool, process and data landscape.
As part of the global F&C Operations team, Analytics is at the core of managing and steering F&C. It brings together a team of quantitative specialists who provide valuable services to senior management and underwriting teams across all lines of business and regions. Their work focuses on delivering insightful analyses, leading major F&C-wide projects, and driving the strategic development of F&C.

 

Your Job

  • FASTR is our web-based analytics tool supporting single-risk underwriting. It enables underwriters to assess and compare risks and generate insights for detailed decision-making. Built with R Shiny (Golem framework), your main task will be to further develop the tool. You will use R, supported by AI tools, to enhance existing code and implement new features across both UI and analytics.
  • Work closely with underwriters to gather requirements and translate them into practical solutions within the tool.


Your Profile

  • Student with quantitative focus (e.g. mathematics, statistics, actuarial or natural science, information technology or economics)
  • Experience and interest in programming and willingness to learn programming in R combined with the use of AI for coding
  • Intrinsically motivated team player with a positive attitude
  • Working collaboratively and effectively in an international group


Students from countries outside the EU require a German residence-/work permit. The first master's degree may not have been completed before/during the entire internship.
