Effective and efficient use of information technology (IT) is key to achieving Munich Re’s and Group Technology’s strategic objectives. To support this, a dedicated organizational and operational structure has been implemented to manage and monitor global IT operations and development teams, including all related processes, applications, infrastructure, and services. This is what we call “IT Governance.”
In line with the overall IT Strategy, IT Governance defines the framework for key governance elements, including processes, responsibilities, controls, reporting, and KPIs.
The Subtower 1.1.1 Governance / Legal Framework ensures compliance with the global IT governance framework and alignment with the IT Strategy. The team designs and maintains selected governance elements for the global IT organization and conducts regular reviews to ensure compliance with relevant standards and to coordinate the resolution of any deficiencies. Additionally, the unit is responsible for the legal IT framework (contractual basis) between group companies for the provision of IT services.

Your Job

  • Assist team members in designing, structuring, and maintaining governance elements (e.g., IT Strategy, IT Organization, 
  • governance-relevant norms & processes, IT Relationship Management, etc.)
  • Design, set up, and moderate trainings for IT Strategy and IT Governance (e-learning, offline, and onsite formats)
  • Support the solution design for automating internal contract management and outsourcing reporting
  • Design and prepare relevant documents (mainly PowerPoint presentations) for updating and rolling out the IT Governance Directive 
    and IT Strategy
  • Communicate with various stakeholders of the Governance / Legal Framework (Workforce Management, 
    Onboarding Management, Relationship Managers, managers of global Shared Service Organizations, etc.)

Your Profile

  • You are currently enrolled in a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree program in Business Informatics, Business Economics, Business 
    Law, or a related field
  • Proactive and collaborative work style; reliable mindset and comfortable communicating with contacts outside the team
  • Strong analytical and conceptual skills with a focus on practical application
  • Solid working knowledge of O365 apps (especially Excel and PowerPoint)
  • Fluency in English (working language); German is a plus
  • Available for at least 6 months starting 15 October 2025; longer availability preferred; Office Location Munich

Students from countries outside the EU require a German residence-/work permit. The first master's degree may not have been completed before/during the entire internship.
