Description:

Digital platforms are the core drivers for scaling insurance and reinsurance products at Munich Re.
REALYTIX ZERO is a worldwide scalable technology platform (rules and pricing engine) designed to digitize and automate insurance workflows through self-configuration.
The cross-functional team in Munich blends underwriting, platform engineering, architecture, pricing, and data engineering using agile methodologies.

As a Customer Success Manager (CSM), you will own and execute implementation work for a diverse global client base, including internal client teams, insurers, MGAs, and brokers.
You will bridge the gap between business underwriting requirements and technical platform configuration, directly impacting adoption and the business volume transacted via the platform.

We offer a workplace where colleagues are empowered to achieve their best.
You will work in a high-density talent environment where underwriting meets state-of-the-art software engineering.
Our goal is to foster an inclusive culture that reflects the global communities and customers we serve.

Your Job

1. Strategic Consulting & Product Design Support

  • Coach Product Designers: Act as the primary strategic and technical consultant for client Product Designers. Guide them in translating insurance requirements into usable, testable, and maintainable digital workflows.
  • Architectural Alignment: Ensure client business requirements adapt to the technical architecture and constraints of the REALYTIX ZERO platform.
  • Process Transformation: Lead the redesign of manual, Excel-, or email-based insurance processes into automated workflows. Challenge clients to eliminate legacy inefficiencies rather than replicating them.
  • AI Integration Governance: Identify high-impact GenAI integration points (e.g., via Co-pilot) to improve efficiency while maintaining underwriting judgment and system stability.

2. Technical Implementation & Implementation Engineering

  • Workflow Architecture: Map multi-step insurance processes into states, roles, rules, routing, and validations. Differentiate clearly between standard path execution and complex edge case handling.
  • Logic Configuration: Consulting and supporting the configuration and validation of complex business logic and calculations, utilizing JavaScript, TypeScript, Python, or JSON.
  • API & Integrations: Direct engineering and client IT teams on technical topics including API requirements, data mapping, and system integrations.
  • End-to-End Ownership: Lead implementation projects from Proof of Concept (PoC) and discovery workshops through to User Acceptance Testing (UAT), go-live, and post-launch stabilization.

3. Business Development & Growth

  • Volume Expansion: Consult clients on API-driven business cases to exponentially increase transacted business volume.
  • Strategic Advisory: Serve as a key relationship manager, collaborating with Business Development Managers to create tailored value propositions and drive client engagement.
  • Product Evolution: Act as the "voice of the customer" to influence the global product roadmap and influence technological platform developments.

4. Operational Excellence

  • Non-Functional Requirements: Operationalize requirements for testability, auditability, and compliance (User Access Management, Data Protection).
  • Knowledge Management: Mitigate "single point of failure" risks by prioritizing structured documentation and active knowledge sharing within the global ecosystem.

Your Profile

  • Professional Experience: 5+ years in Underwriting, Software Development, Solutions Architecture, or Technical Project Management within the Insurance or InsurTech sector.
  • Educational Background: Degree in Insurance (e.g. Underwriter, Actuary) Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related technical field (or equivalent profound IT background).
  • Domain Expertise: Deep understanding of Non-Life (Property, Casualty, Cyber, Aviation) underwriting principles (treaty or facultative).
  • Technical Literacy:
    • Ability to write and validate JavaScript/TypeScript logic for insurance calculations.
    • Experience validating JSON structures and troubleshooting API-driven workflows.
    • Prior experience with SaaS platforms, workflow systems, or rules/pricing engines.
  • Soft Skills: Proven influencing skills without formal authority. Ability to manage competing priorities and drive decision-making in agile environments.
  • Languages: Fluent business English (mandatory) and German is an advantage
  • Mobility: Willingness to travel approximately 10% for global client engagements.
