Credit risks are the main focus of Munich Re’s Financial Risk Division. Within our Reinsurance team, we stay at the forefront of global trends in the Trade Credit, Surety, Political Risk and Special Credit Products insurance industry. We analyze large corporate risks, complex credit transactions across various industries and geographies, as well as new products, markets, and market developments.
The global Credit Risk business presents a unique challenge, requiring a sound understanding of the economic and geopolitical dynamics of diverse markets, industries, and products. Over the years, we have established ourselves as an internationally recognized capacity provider, participating in the reinsurance programs of international Trade Credit Insurance Companies, Surety Providers, Export Credit Agencies and Multilateral Organizations.

Your Job
- Analysis of the creditworthiness of corporates and large business transactions
- Evaluation of complex financing structures, including structured finance, export finance, project finance and sovereign-risk related transactions
- Preparation of internal credit applications with conclusive recommendations, including the independent justification of decisions for internal stakeholders and clients
- Determination of risk appetite for major individual risks and the key business sectors
- Diligent monitoring of the existing credit portfolio, identification of emerging risks at an early stage and implementation of appropriate risk-control measures
- Interaction with clients on product- and risk-related topics
- Support for the further development of tools and credit management systems
- Assistance in evaluating and developing strategic growth initiatives and new business opportunities
Your Profile
- University degree, preferably in business, economics or a related field, or equivalent training (e.g. banking/insurance traineeship followed by further professional education)
- Professional experience in the field of corporate credit analysis, supplemented by a solid understanding of structured finance, project finance, export finance, cash-flow-based lending or other related product segments
- Keen interest in following global economical and geopolitical developments, coupled with the ability to incorporate macroeconomic factors into credit decision making
- Strong interest in leveraging and further developing AI-enabled tools to enhance efficiency, consistency and decision support in the underwriting process
- Sound knowledge of accounting and regulatory requirements
- Strong sense of responsibility, willingness and ability to justify decisions in a clear and comprehensible manner, business-oriented approach
- Team spirit, proactive approach, ability to work independently
- Confident manner, strong interpersonal skills and intercultural mindset
- Business-level proficiency in English, additional language skills are an advantage
