Controller / Developer in Global Expense Controlling and Analytics (m/f/d)*

In the Division Reinsurance Controlling (RIC), the responsibilities of controlling and management reporting are bundled together to ensure a uniform controlling process. RIC advises the Reinsurance Committee (RVA), RI-CEO and the RI-CFO in respect of the current economics of the Reinsurance Segment and proper allocation of resources.
RIC1.4 acts as the Global Process Owner for expenses and is responsible for Non-IT budgeting and cost allocation processes. RIC1.4.1 is in charge to provide all relevant information and analytics to senior management, especially the Reinsurance Committee and the Reinsurance CFO, to steer the expense base in the business field reinsurance. This especially includes the management of the annual expense planning and monitoring processes as well as various ad hoc analysis and presentations. Due to the numerous interfaces involving the division, the unit provides an excellent overview of current projects and reporting processes.
We strive to continuously enhance our data modelling and processing capabilities to respond to new and increasing requirements in Munich Re’s cost steering. In this context, the we are looking for a highly motivated and committed Controller, acting also as a Developer and reporting to the Head of Section “Global Expense Controlling & Analytics” within our hybrid working environment.
Your Job
- Coordinate and support cost and staff planning based on central administration/maintenance of global expense and staff planning tool
- Support business unit controllers and the RIC management team by preparing data, reports and scalable solutions/models in a flexible but reliable way
- Drive and support maintenance and development of Power App solutions to further automate and optimize controlling processes.
- Thereby, work on harmonisation and development of global cost controlling processes
- Support further automation and digitalisation of systems, tools, interfaces and processes to further boost the efficiency of cost controlling
- Provide ongoing support for associated initiatives dedicated to process automation and digital transformation of controlling processes.
Your Profile
- University degree (preferably in IT, business informatics or Economics)
- Profound experience in Controlling / Finance and especially in budget planning processes, ideally in the primary insurance or reinsurance business
- At least one year experience in application development with Microsoft Power Platform (Power Apps, Power Automate)
- Advanced, in-depth knowledge of MS Excel, ideally linked with expertise in SAP-CO
- Skills in VBA, R, Phyton, SQL and Powerpoint are highly desirable
- Excellent analytical and conceptual skills
- High motivation and above-average commitment with a strong client and service focus
- Composed and confident manner as well as excellent and stakeholder orientated communication skills
- Very good command of English
