As a specialty provider of primary insurance services Great Lakes Insurance SE (Great Lakes) with its branches in the United Kingdom, Australia, Switzerland, Italy and Ireland and its newly founded subsidiary in the United Kingdom, is an integral part of the Munich Re Group and an important enabler for Specialty Insurance Business (GSI – Global Specialty Insurance) closely connected to Munich Re’s reinsurance core business.

 

To assist our Compliance Team, which forms part of the Legal and Compliance Team at Great Lakes, based in Munich, we are looking for a working student for a minimum stay of 6 months up to 20 hours per week.

 

Your Job

  • Support the Compliance Team in fulfilling its mandate including but not limited to:
    • Review and preparation of norms and processes,
    • Research, analysis and implement of legal changes relevant to Great Lakes;
    • Contribute to the design of training and communication measures, and
    • Creation and visualization of compliance reports.
  • Collaborate in global teams with international colleagues;
  • Cooperate closely with the Great Lakes Legal team and with relevant stakeholders at Munich Re;
  • Take on administrative and organisational tasks ;
  • Contribute to the team with innovative ideas on compliance and organisational topics. 

 

Your Profile

  • Currently enrolled in studies of business administration, economics, law or comparable;
  • Initial experience such as internships in the field of legal and compliance beneficial;
  • Fluency in German and English, any other language beneficial;
  • Good working knowledge of MS Office software (such as Word, Power Point and Excel);
  • Knowledge of the primary insurance business and regulatory environment is beneficial;
  • Interest in the wider business environment and technical issues;
  • Analytical, pragmatic and solution orientated thinker;
  • Ability to work in large complex projects;
  • Exceptional communication and team working skills; and
  • High degree of personal commitment and intercultural competence.

 

Students from countries outside the EU require a German residence-/work permit. The first master’s degree may not have been completed before/during the entire internship
