Our division has the global responsibility for direct credit risk within Munich RE Group being the “One-Stop Shop” solution provider and first port of call for all top-notch Financial Institutions in their core activities (markets, products, asset classes) for their capacity and capital management needs. Our solutions cover single risk and plain-vanilla portfolio solutions in our Global Credit Solutions team as well as highly structured portfolio solutions in our Structured Portfolio Solutions team.
The active development and implementation of innovative or new risk transfer solutions often is driven by regulatory developments, new clients or the expansion of our existing solutions to new products, markets, or regions.  This expansion is key for our future profitable growth and is supported by a Business Development team.
The advertised position is for an expert in the “fund finance” space, ideally both on a fund portfolio level but also on portfolio company level, that well help us to develop our franchise in the Fund Finance space.

 

Your tasks: 

  • Develop strategies/ risk appetite and UW standards for the Fund Finance business incl. internal approvals with banks and potentially also GPs/funds as clients
  • Drive and coordinate with our internal Key Account Relationship Managers the selection of target banks to develop the business
  • Lead and coordinate the product development/ structuring effort in coordination with legal and actuarial experts in the group
  • Serve as an internal and external expert and function as a “Centre of Competence” for Fund Finance within the business for both market facing as well as MO/risk functions
  • Evaluate a banks capabilities in originating and managing these risks, e.g., as part of due diligences for Fund Finance (whether single risk or portfolio solutions)
  • Assess the inherent and relevant risks within Fund Finance transactions offered by banks

 

Your profile:

  • University degree, preferably in Business Administration, Law, Economics, or Natural Sciences
  • At least 15 years of professional experience within the banking / fund management industry across a variety of financing products with strong focus on Fund Finance.
  • Long standing professional experience in Relationship Management and/or Sales either within the lending and/or capital markets business of internationally operating banks or the treasury function of an internationally operating fund manager
  • Experience in the signing of risk transfer products between banks and/or insurance companies would be beneficial
  • Knowledge of regulatory requirements for internationally operating banks in particular in the area of fund finance
  • Superior analytical skills in conjunction with a pronounced risk awareness and sense of responsibility, along with a willingness and ability to justify decisions in a clear and comprehensible manner.
  • Highly independent, solution-oriented/ deal-driven working style with strong intrinsic motivation;
  • Sound project management & project portfolio steering skills, analytical strengths as well as client centric thinking;
  • Excellent social, presentation, negotiation, and moderation skills;
  • Experience in leading people also without authority (e.g., in agile project teams);
  • Fluent English; command of German desirable.
