Munich Re's Central Procurement (CP) has global responsibility within the Reinsurance Group. As part of the Global Sourcing Procurement team, you will report to the Head of Global Software and SaaS Sourcing. In this role, you will be responsible for shaping and executing the procurement strategy for Software and Software-as-a-Service. This includes license agreements, integration, maintenance, support, and related services. The goal is to deliver business value, promote digitalization, and improve vendor and risk management by leveraging in-depth category knowledge and collaborating closely with stakeholders.
Your Job
- Act as the strategic interface to internal customers and suppliers, translating business needs into effective negotiations and contracts in cooperation with Legal and other functions
- Lead end-to-end sourcing processes, including market analysis, demand planning, tendering, evaluation, negotiation, and implementation
- Work as part of the Global Software Procurement team to develop sourcing and supplier strategies
- Manage key suppliers and develop sourcing strategies together with IT, Software Asset Management, Enterprise Architecture, and the global procurement team
- Conduct spend analysis, define optimization goals, and ensure global interaction and alignment across the Munich Re Group (e.g. ERGO and MEAG)
Your Profile
- Academic degree in Business, Economics, IT, Engineering, Supply Chain Management or a related field
- 3+ years’ experience in Software and SaaS procurement or related areas (e.g. License Management), with a proven track record in strategic sourcing projects in international environments
- Strong negotiation skills, including experience leading cross-functional teams and working with in-house legal on complex contracts
- Proficient in contract terminology and software procurement best practices; well-versed in supplier and vendor management
- Genuine passion for software and technology, staying up to date with industry trends and innovations
- Entrepreneurial mindset with curiosity, adaptability, and a passion for learning
- Strong written and verbal communication skills in German and English and willingness to work in an international environment
