Associate Financial Analyst - Investment Monitoring (m/f/d)* Limited to 12 months

The Group Investment Management (GIM) division is responsible for managing the proprietary Munich Re and ERGO investment portfolio of around €240bn. Within GIM, the Investment Monitoring team acts as a strategic partner to the Group CIO, monitoring group-wide investments along all steering perspectives (economic performance, IFRS, risk, etc.). The team addresses and drives Group-wide investment topics and provides holistic and transparent quarterly reporting to the Group Committee. Furthermore, the team provides timely information for investment steering purposes (i.e. BI dashboards, management reporting and data).
We are looking for an Associate Financial Analyst to join this team on a fixed-term contract of one year from September 2027 until August 2028. Please discuss your interest in this position with your current manager before applying as the reintegration responsibility will stay with the current unit.
Your Job
- Analysing investment performance and key performance drivers, including supporting performance measurement, contribution and attribution analyses
- Monitoring of group-wide investments, analysing strengths and weaknesses of the investment process
- Continuously improving the quality of analyses and increasing efficiency gains by driving digitalisation
- Participating in investment monitoring projects as well as projects related to data and requirements management
- Support in building and further developing the GIM Data Platform and GIM Dashboard Landscape
- Preparing insightful monitoring and performance reports reports and ad hoc analyses
- Support the development of strategic recommendations for the Group CIO and the GIM management team
- Collaborating closely with other GIM and CFO units to ensure effective knowledge and information transfer
Your Profile
- Excellent academic education
- Additional qualifications (e.g. CFA) or active pursuit towards it will be considered as an asset
- Proven experience in analysing investment performance and key performance drivers
- Knowledge in investment topics (investment management, asset management, risk management, accounting etc.)
- Interest in learning about GIM Investment Management processes
- Ability to analyse current processes and procedures, and recommend and implement improvements
- Excellent analytical and problem solving skills
- Strong team player, able to contribute in a dynamic and collaborative environment
- Independent and result-oriented working style
