Application Developer for SAP Authorizations in Munich (m/f/d)*

Successful candidates must be prepared to relocate to the specified job location in the job posting and will be employed directly under the hiring entity’s contractual terms.
This role will be part of the Corporate Functions Tower for Group Technology, which oversees IT service delivery and manages key relationships across all corporate and central units, including Finance, HR, Legal & Compliance, Services/Facilities, and Procurement. The Tower also manages cross-functional domains such as document management, collaboration platforms, corporate websites, and Group-wide Identity Access Management (IAM), as well as selected central platforms and Regulatory/Integrated Risk Management (IRM) product delivery.
To further enhance our engineering expertise, we are seeking a methodologically skilled and motivated Application Developer for SAP Authorizations. As a member of our product team, you will closely cooperate with your team members and be especially responsible for implementing SAP-based authorization concepts.
Your expertise will ensure efficient requirements engineering and subsequent implementation of our business and architectural requirements along the latest methodological, technical, compliance, and security standards. Your primary focus will be on SAP-FI (General Ledger) and SAP-FAM (Financial Asset Management).
Located in Munich, you will work in close proximity to our key business stakeholders to ensure seamless alignment and effective solution delivery.
- You analyze business processes to identify authorization requirements for various user roles and groups
- You design and implement SAP roles in a modern SAP environment with S/4 HANA
- You continuously maintain and enhance complex SAP roles and authorization concepts to meet security and compliance requirements (e.g., DORA)
- You participate in testing and validation and resolve SoD conflicts
- You support audits and ensure compliance (such as DORA, SOX)
- You work closely with your product team members, business stakeholders, SAP administrators, security teams, and other authorization experts
- You communicate and collaborate effectively
Your Profile:
- University degree in Computer Engineering, IT, or a similar qualification
- Several years of experience in requirements engineering and software development, with a proven track record of designing and implementing
- Good knowledge of the entire software development and product life cycle
- Several years of experience in complex SAP systems, preferably SAP FI or SAP FAM
- In-depth expertise in the design, development, and implementation of SAP authorization concepts with regard to S/4HANA, including role design, profile creation, and permission assignments
- In-depth knowledge of SAP security concepts, preferably in the financial area
- Commitment to staying up-to-date with the latest SAP technologies, trends, and best practices, and applying this knowledge to continuously improve our systems from a technical perspective
- Highly developed analytical and conceptual skills, allied to the ability to present complex situations in a clear and understandable way
- Collaborative working style, with a focus on creating a culture of accountability, sharing, and teamwork
- A high degree of commitment, with the willingness and ability to master various tasks and adapt to changing project requirements
- Fluency in spoken and written English, enabling effective communication with international stakeholders and teams. German is a plus
