Actuarial Auditor (m/f/d)*

Join a global audit function that provides independent assurance and trusted advice to senior management, Boards of Management, and Audit Committees across Munich Re Group. Group Audit plays a key role in strengthening governance, risk management, and internal controls across a diverse international business portfolio, including reinsurance, primary insurance, and asset management activities.
As part of our global audit community, you will assess whether actuarial processes, models, systems, and controls meet internal and external requirements, and help identify opportunities for improvement. The role focuses on actuarial core areas such as risk modelling, pricing, valuation, reserving, and asset-liability management. You will be part of the global actuarial auditors community and will work closely with colleagues across our international audit network, including teams in Munich, Singapore, Toronto, and Sydney.
This role reports to the Head of Department, EULA.
Your Job
- Plan and execute audits of actuarial models, methods, and processes across Munich Re entities, with a particular focus on risk modelling, reserving, pricing, and related actuarial topics
- Apply agile audit approaches and data analytics techniques to deliver effective, risk-based audit work
- Provide independent, practical, and impactful advice in close collaboration with audited units
- Support audit engagements across divisional units as an actuarial and mathematical subject matter expert
- Assess the effectiveness of processes and the Internal Control System (ICS) and develop recommendations for improvement
- Deliver clear, timely, and concise audit reports and monitor the implementation of agreed remediation measures
- Contribute to internal projects with actuarial content and help assess potential risks for Munich Re Group
Your Profile
- University degree in actuarial science, mathematics, financial mathematics, or another quantitative discipline with strong knowledge of stochastics, statistics, and financial mathematics
- Fully qualified actuary (DAV or equivalent)
- At least 5+ years of professional experience as an actuary or mathematician in the insurance or reinsurance industry
- Experience in non-life underwriting or reserving is advantageous
- Experience in internal audit, model review, or a second-line review function within an insurance or reinsurance environment is a plus
- Familiarity with data analytics and AI tools is a plus
- Excellent analytical skills and the ability to understand and assess complex topics
- Collaborative, internationally minded approach with a proactive attitude toward knowledge sharing
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to navigate discussions constructively
- Strong command of written and spoken English; German language skills are beneficial
- Willingness to travel internationally
