Portfolio Lead – Growth Expansion
You will lead high priority change initiatives identified by the COO and OLT including the European expansion initiative coordinating operationalization of market entry strategy, location selection, regulatory, statutory and legal environment, operations, human resources and technology design and implementation.
As a Portfolio Lead you will take the defined strategy and move this into tangible deliverables, resulting in having the required operating model and associated people, technology, data and processes in place
In collaboration with the COO and Operations Leadership Team, execute an operating model for Europe that aligns with the target state for Munich Re Specialty Global Markets (MR GM)
- Working closely with MR GM CEO, COO & European CEO agree and define short, medium and long-term deliverables to bring together a portfolio of work, which will drive the required outcomes aligned with writing business across Europe and beyond (as required)
- Identify, navigate and liaise with impacted Executives and Stakeholders across various business units to ensure they’re kept informed of progress and have visibility of key issues requiring escalated support
- Navigate the phases of transformation by setting up plans, aligning resources, engaging the right subject matter experts and facilitating the core programme activities
- Capturing and managing risks, issues and dependencies and ensuring visibility and escalation to Sponsors and Senior Stakeholders to help remove blockers
- Creating programme plans that connect with business units to identify interdependencies and/or conflicts
- Lead and manage business subject matter experts, business change and IT resources with the appropriate support structure (programme resources not line management)
- Change and Transformation
- Be the key interface between business entities across Munich Re, GSI & MR GM in relation to growth expansion, specifically Europe
- Embed into the MR GM team as a Change Champion and Ambassador for the Operations function
- Working with colleagues in change and SMEs from MR GM to deliver projects which will enable the European TOM
- Work closely with impacted stakeholders to ensure a high-level of understanding of the change and agree plans for embedding an effective Change management & communication strategy and approach
- Work in collaboration with the COO function to identify required resources to support delivery of the projects
- Have a detailed awareness of other projects and programmes which may have dependencies and manage these accordingly
- Ability to manage change within a fluid environment across businesses, functions and geographies
- Can develop flexible solutions to address impediments that arise from transformation initiatives
Key Skills and Experience
- Strong exposure within Insurance industry.
- Comprehensive understanding of the London market and Lloyd’s environment
- Comprehensive understanding of the Lloyd’s Principles for Doing Business.
- Understanding of business strategy and the work of the other departments within the organisation.
- Ability to coordinate and manage multiple projects and working groups from and across multiple parts of the business to deliver strategic objectives in accordance with set deadlines
- Attention to detail and strives for accuracy and data quality
- Ability to interact and negotiate with both internal and external parties
- Delivery of programmes and projects
