Portfolio Analyst

We are currently looking for a Portfolio Analyst to be based in London or Manchester on a fixed term contract (21 months), reporting into the Portfolio Manager for Volume Lines

Responsibilities:

  • Review claims to ensure that we are getting the right outcomes / expected outcomes for customers.
  • Run/Produce/Analyse reports to review trends in the claims data to ensure the wordings are delivering expected outcomes with no customer detriment.
  • Claims oversight audit, to make sure leakage is kept to a minimum
  • Reconciliation of Boiler Services arranged by PMS to ensure delivery within expected timescales.
  • Ensure JLP’s adherence to any conduct risk obligations as outlined within the Coverholder agreements.
  • Contribute to product governance processes by assisting with product reviews and fair value assessments, including reviews of associated customer communications and services. Provide feedback on identified customer outcome and regulatory risks and propose mitigation actions.
  • Provide advisory and oversight support on business projects and initiatives as required.
  • Help facilitate the reconciliation of data between MRDP, Great Lakes and third party company systems.
  • Represent MRDP in claims meetings, where appropriate
  • Undertake regular claims case reviews on statistically significant samples, sharing findings and recommendations with the wider team for continuous service and product improvements.
  • Support the MRDP Underwriting and Pricing teams in the delivery of analysis under Consumer Duty and Conduct Risk Framework, associated policies and procedures.
  • Understand all appropriate lines of escalation and the responsibilities of the Product Conduct Risk Strategy Group (PCRSG), Underwriting & Claims Sub Committee (UCSC) , ExCo and Board for Conduct Risk.

 

 

Knowledge and Skills

  • Proven experience of conduct risk Root Cause Analysis to improve customer outcomes and portfolio performance monitoring.
  • Effective communication skills at all levels
  • Ability to identify regulatory and compliance requirements and implement them in the business
  • Proactive, personable approach with the ability to build relationships to implement change
  • Superior analytical skills and attention to detail, with a proven ability to work collaboratively with underwriting and pricing teams.
  • Ability to work under own initiative in a small, dynamic team.
  • Superior knowledge of analysis of claims and claims trends.
  • Good understanding of Consumer Duty outcomes from a claims perspective.
  • Superior knowledge of insurance processes and regulatory requirements in the UK.
  • Ability to improve products following RCA.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including report writing, presentations and ability to present complex analyses Exco.
  • Ability to build and sustain strong working relationships with a variety of internal and external stakeholders and influence their co-operation to achieve desired outcomes.
