Senior Project Manager
We are looking for a Senior Project Manager to join our team in either London or Manchester on a full-time basis with hybrid working of 2-3 days per week.
Project Managers will be responsible for delivering key projects within our Global Change Portfolio, supporting the delivery of projects across various areas of the business.
This role is responsible for the full end to end delivery of projects supported, ensuring all key elements are tracked, reported and managed to a high standard to ensure successful, timely and on budget delivery.
Responsibilities
- Project ownership: Key person to lead, drive, share information, alongside being responsible for project delivery
- Define project scope and objectives: Work with stakeholders to clearly define the scope and objectives of the project, outlining what needs to be accomplished and the desired outcomes.
- Project Planning: Ensuring a clear project/programme plan is available at all times. Ensuring that tasks, timelines, resources, and milestones are shown as required by the business and or stakeholder group.
- Manage resources: Resource evaluation and allocation across the Portfolio. Working pro-actively with stakeholders to ensure this is estimated, allocated and utilised effectively to ensure smooth project delivery.
- Budget management: Support the management of project budgets which require monitoring and review throughout the life of the project, aligned with support of the business Sponsor
- Assess the change impact: Conduct impact analyses, assess change readiness, and identify key stakeholders.
- Communication: Communicate in a clear and transparent manner supporting the achievement of project goals. Acting as a central point of control and coordination to ensure project success. Coordination and management of external parties including Claims TPA’s, external fronting companies and parties across the Munich Re Group. Project Manager’s must enable the design, development, delivery and management of key communications.
- Risk management: Identifying, documenting and managing potential risks, issues and dependencies across programmes. Ensuring a mitigation plan is in place to remediate.
- Stakeholder management and collaboration: Facilitate and lead effective communication among team members, stakeholders, and other relevant parties, ensuring everyone is on the same page and aware of project progress. Prepare and moderate workshops and other project-related meetings with senior management, functional experts and other stakeholders
- Monitor, control and report progress: Monitor and report project progress, manage project planning, taking corrective actions when necessary to keep the project on track.
- Quality assurance: Project documentation and outputs should meet required quality standards and specifications and should be managed in accordance with the agreed portfolio governance.
- Conflict resolution: Addressing conflicts and challenges that arise within the project team or with stakeholders is a key responsibility of the project manager. Escalating and reporting issues appropriately.
Required Knowledge, Skills and Experience
- Significant business focused Project Management experience, supporting projects within the Insurance sector
- Demonstrated experience managing complex business, change, or transformational projects, whereby you were responsible for the core business delivery
- Strong Insurance Industry knowledge and market awareness
- Core understanding of the Lloyd’s market, with proven experience supporting projects relating to activities impacting speciality insurance products
- Experience leading multi-functional projects, whereby areas of the business are impacted e.g. Underwriting, Claims, Finance, IT, Operations, HR, Legal etc/as required
- Proven ability showcasing focus and agility managing complex requirements at a fast pace, tight deadlines
- Strong ability to adapt to communication methods and approaches to support stakeholders, across various levels
- Experience working within Business Change focused teams to deliver complex transformation programmes across multiple regions, product lines and or markets
- Proven stakeholder management skills with the demonstrated ability to drive decision making at an Executive level, as well as delivery at a project level, aligning all core business areas
- Experience working with Programme Managers, IT Project Managers and other related change management roles
- Proven understanding of Project Management Methodologies (Agile, Scrum, Waterfall, hybrid approaches)
Desirable Knowledge, Skills and Experience
- Experience working with Insurance Markets outside of the UK
- Previous roles held within Change, prior to Project Management, for example Business Analyst
