Senior Project Manager (FTC)
The Senior Project Manager will lead change and transformation initiatives within our Change Portfolio, supporting to deliver against our function objectives and overall strategy. This is a Fixed Term Contract for 12 months based in our London City office, on-site 2-3 days per week.
This specific role will provide project management support to a wider programme of work, leading the Delivery and rollout of business critical technology to support within the Delegated Authority area of our business. This ongoing programme is a key strategic deliverable for our Operations function to deliver.
Project Managers within the Change team play a crucial role in leading ensuring the successful delivery of initiatives across change, growth and transformation.
Responsibilities
- Project Ownership: Key person to lead, drive and be responsible for project delivery.
- Define project scope and objectives: Work with stakeholders to clearly define the scope and objectives of the project, outlining what needs to be accomplished and the desired outcomes.
- Project Planning: Ensuring a clear project/programme plan is available at all times. Ensuring that tasks, timelines, resources, and milestones are shown as required by the business and or stakeholder group.
- Manage resources: Resource evaluation and allocation across the Portfolio. Working pro-actively with stakeholders to ensure this is estimated, allocated and utilised effectively to ensure smooth project delivery.
- Budget management: Support the management of project budgets which require monitoring and review throughout the life of the project, aligned with support of the business Sponsor
- Assess the change impact: Conduct impact analyses, assess change readiness, and identify key stakeholders.
- Communication: Communicate in a clear and transparent manner supporting the achievement of project goals. Acting as a central point of control and coordination to ensure project success. Coordination and management of external parties including Claims TPA’s, external fronting companies and parties across the Munich Re Group. The Senior Project Manager must enable the design, development, delivery and management of key communications.
- Risk management: Identifying, documenting and managing potential risks, issues and dependencies across programmes. Ensuring a mitigation plan is in place to remediate.
- Communication and collaboration: Facilitate and lead effective communication among team members, stakeholders, and other relevant parties, ensuring everyone is on the same page and aware of project progress. Prepare and moderate workshops and other project-related meetings with senior management, functional experts and other stakeholders
- Monitor, control and report progress: Monitor and report project progress, manage project planning, taking corrective actions when necessary to keep the project on track
- Quality assurance: Project documentation and outputs should meet required quality standards and specifications and should be managed in accordance with the agreed portfolio governance.
- Conflict resolution: Addressing conflicts and challenges that arise within the project team or with stakeholders is a key responsibility of the project manager. Escalating and reporting issues appropriately.
Required Knowledge, Skills and Experience
- Significant Business specific Project or Change Management experience
- Demonstrated Experience working within the Delegated Authority Market
- Strong knowledge and experience working with Onboarding, Due Diligence and Bordereaux Management systems and technology
- Knowledge and understanding of market leading systems e.g. VIPR, Watertrace, distriBind etc
- Strong experience in vendor contract negotiation and vendor management
- Experience implementing technical solutions to support bordereaux and coverholder management
- Substantial and proven Insurance Industry knowledge
- Demonstrable experience and knowledge of the London Market, especially Lloyd’s
- Ability to thrive in a function where change is constant
- Proven stakeholder management skills and ability to drive decision making at an Executive level
- Proven understanding of Project Management Methodologies (Agile, Scrum, Waterfall, hybrid approaches)
- Knowledge of business analysis techniques and processes
- Good understanding of Data Security and Privacy across Insurance products
