About the Role:

We are looking for a Senior Cargo Broker to provide existing and prospective clients with excellent service on a varied book of direct and reinsurance marine business.

This role reports directly to Roanoke’s Chief Operating Officer and offers the opportunity to work within a dynamic, supportive, and high-performing team environment.

 

Key Responsibilities:

 

  • To broke a portfolio of marine business including, but not limited to Marine Cargo Direct and Reinsurance, ranging from complex project contracts to basic facultative risks.
  • To develop, where possible, new business from new and existing clients.
  • Quoting, placing and ongoing account handling for designated clients, including all day to day correspondence.
  • Liaising with the backup teams as necessary.
  • To keep accurate records and ensure all electronic files are up to date and FCA/RIBL compliant.
  • To maintain and develop good working relationships with both clients and underwriters
  • To compile comprehensive renewal/new business presentations for underwriters including production of placing slips if and as necessary.
  • To provide assistance and feedback on new business initiatives.
  • To assist in placing (re)insurance for a variety of other marine risks, if and as may be required
  • Help drive forward good Conduct for the business to deliver the best outcomes for customers / policyholders.
