Risk Analyst

We are looking for a Risk Analyst to join our London City Office (Hybrid 2-3 days per week) on a full time basis, this is a great opportunity for a graduate or junior professional to work across a variety of areas, gain a broad insight into the different risk areas of the business and have great exposure to senior management. 

 

The Risk team are looking for an enthusiastic and proactive who is comfortable working with Excel, PowerPoint and also relishes the opportunity to liaise with a variety of stakeholders including senior management.

 

 

Responsibilities

  • You will support the Head of Enterprise Risk Management, Head of Financial Risk and the Non-Financial Risk team to ensure that risk exposures and associated controls are appropriately monitored and reported on for the required management and legal entity governing bodies to ensure strong business support on key decisions, the appropriate identification and management of key and emerging risks, and compliance with Munich Re, PRA, FCA and Lloyd’s requirements. This includes:
  • Supporting the development, implementation and embedding of appropriate risk appetite and other metrics;
  • Assisting with the Risk and Control Assessment (RCA) process;
  • Supporting the reporting on the financial and non-financial risk profile across MRS-GM including material risk exposures / position against risk appetite, effectiveness of associated control environment and material incidents;
  • Supporting ORSA report production process; Contributing to the emerging risk assessments and scenario analysis activities;
  • Assisting with the validation of MRSL’s internal capital model, including risk quantification and aggregation, using established techniques and methodologies;
  • Close interaction with other governance areas including other parts of the Legal, Risk and Compliance (LR&C) function, and Internal Audit to ensure comprehensive governance and oversight of the complete financial risk profile of the business;
  • Assist with other enterprise risk management departmental activities as and when required.

Knowledge and Skills

  • Strong interests in working in a Risk management function;
  • Interested in working with data using Excel and other analytical tools; have drive and initiative to conceptualise solutions for complex problems using technology.
  • Can demonstrate accuracy, attention to detail and a diligent approach to work.
  • Should be proactive and willing to assist in other risk activities that may arise from time to time.
  • Should be focussed on completing activities to meet internal/external reporting deadlines
  • University Degree and/or relevant professional qualification.
  • Ideally would like to pursue CII, Risk or Actuarial exams
