About the role:
We are looking to recruit a leader for the UKLB marketing and communications team who will motivate and inspire their colleagues. They will bring both creativity and strategic thinking to ensure the team is future looking with marketing and communication materials, supporting key business objectives and priorities.
The role offers an excellent opportunity to manage and set the strategy for the UKLB marketing and communications team. The role is across both external and internal marketing and communication activities and aligns to the wider Global Communication, UK and LH1 communities.
The role functions within a global matrix environment, reporting regionally to UKLB Chief of Staff while maintaining a functional reporting line to the Global Head of LH Marketing Coms in Group Communications. This structure enables the role to influence and align both regional and global priorities drawing on Group best practices, shared tools, and global brand standards, while ensuring UKLB strategies are fully executed from a Marketing perspective.
The successful candidate must have a strong attention to detail and be able to adapt to change. We are looking for someone who is confident to challenge and offer alternative solutions and ideas.
Key Responsibilities:
- Define and deliver a marketing and communications strategy for UKLB to support the business ambitions
- Manage the UKLB marketing communications team, including prioritisation of workloads, delegation of projects and tasks, while embracing the values of a cohesive team
- Prioritise the development and growth of the team, while ensuring a healthy work-life balance and team wellbeing is maintained
- Represent UKLB's interests at a global level across both Global Com and LH1
- Develop strong network across Group. Leverage Group Com capabilities and look for ways to apply locally
- Coordinate and align marketing and communication plans with the Global LH Marketing team and ensure consistency with Global Com guidelines and standards
- Responsible for the oversight of all UKLB marketing communications material that is delivered, ensuring it is in line with global branding and aligned with ambition goals
- Ensure business stakeholders needs are met and fully satisfied with best in class delivery and execution
- Lead efforts to assess internal stakeholder feedback annually utilising the internal sentiment index survey
- Utilising marketing expertise, challenge and influence business lines with their approach to marketing communications to make sure UKLB stands out from competitors, maximises engagement and delivers commercial objectives across internal and external communications
General Duties and Tasks:
- Develop and execute the annual marketing communications strategy for both internal and external audiences, aligning with the organization's business goals and budget
- Work closely and collaboratively with Chief of Staff to understand wider business strategy and stay informed on ongoing business priorities
- Lead, develop, and inspire the UKLB marketing and communications team while operating effectively within a matrixed global environment, reporting regionally to UKLB leadership while maintaining a functional reporting line to the Global Head of LH Marketing in Group Communications
- Foster strong collaboration and alignment across UKLB, LH1 and Group Com functions and regions to deliver integrated, high quality outcomes
- Manage team priorities, with oversight of delivery against plan and budget whilst managing stakeholder expectations
- Collaborate with the business to ensure communication plans compliment business plans and maximise engagement for both internal and external communications
- Quality control all marketing material coordinated from UKLB marketing communications team and ensure the appropriate approval routes are followed, including Global Com approval, where appropriate
- Work closely with Group Com teams to ensure smooth collaboration of joint projects and external activities and secure consistency with Group Com standards, channels, tools, brand guidelines, and media protocol. Coordinate and align on media engagement and PR activities with Group Com's Media Relations team
- Undertake market research and leverage available market data to actively shape marketing recommendations, plans and positioning of UKLB
- Provide the business with an excellent and diverse pool of marketing material; including but not limited to hospitality, seminars, PR, content, mediums (e-mail, web, social, video) and campaigns, while capitalizing on and aligning with Group Com frameworks and standards
- Active participation in the Group Centre of Excellence, building strong knowledge of our global Marketing capability and how that can be leveraged locally within UKLB

Key Skills & Experience (Essential):
- Demonstrated experience in a corporate marketing role (insurance industry experience desirable)
