Head of Subsection – AMS UK
We are currently looking for a Head of Subsection – AMS UK to be based in London on a full-time basis, reporting into the Head of Section.
As Head of the sub section AMS UK, you report to the Global Head of the section AMS and you are responsible for delivering stable Application Managed Services in a cost effective and adequate manner. You drive further optimisation and standardisation of the service offer and delivery. Moreover you achieve additional efficiency for global IT by enhancing the AMS portfolio of applications in UK and ERGO Nordic. In this portfolio you manage IT and operational risks relating to compliance, risk, audit and privacy/data protection, ensuring that system and process controls are compliant with applicable Munich Re policies, standards and all regulations. Additionally the responsibility for the operational duty of the local AMS portfolio and the responsibility of respectively associated team based in SSO MRSG UK Service limited and SSO ETS India lies with you.
Responsibilities:
- Disciplinary and functional management of a team of highly qualified and motivated staff and IT experts
- Full responsibility for all services in scope – in time, on budget and in high quality, as well as responsibility for planning (budgeting), forecasting and control of actual costs for the in-scope cost centers.
- Driving of further transition / transfer of applications into the AMS model as well as industrialization of processes on a global level
- Working closely and coordinating with other Global AMS Entities (e.g. Princeton, Hartford, Singapore, Toronto, Munich etc.) to standardize and ensure scaled collaboration
- Integrate AMS into the global IT Target Operating Model and take care for good communication and collaboration with other towers and (sub-)sections
- Constant monitoring of service costs and investigating consistent measures to cut the costs of these services
- Responsibility for the effective management of all service providers in AMS
- Service management: risk management, quality management, capacity management, staff management, demand forecasting, compliance and contract, vulnerability and performance management
- Build, lead and preserve a highly motivated and high performing team culture – think globally and act locally to promote teamwork within EMEA and with the broader Global IT team
- Be a role model in terms of cultural change and diversity, equity and inclusion and lead your team in this sense
Knowledge and Skills
- University degree in IT or business information management or equivalent qualification
- Team-building abilities and strong skills in the management of internal and external interfaces, also in an international context
- Highly developed leadership qualities and management experience
- Experience of leading change processes and excellent organizational skills
- Considerable experience in IT, preferably with sound knowledge of IT application development & application operation / run services and of managing international service providers, ideally in an offshore model
- Good understanding of the underlying infrastructure especially cloud environments
- Process and standardisation oriented way of working with a strong focus on compliance
- Collaborative working style, creating a culture of accountability and sharing
- High level of service and client focus, a driver of operational efficiency and experience in stakeholder management
- Ideally excellent command of English and German and willingness to travel
- “Cultural awareness” and willingness to work in an international and diverse team
