Head of Section - Workplace Services
Head of Global Workplace Services is responsible for the delivery of highly standardized services, technology and security standards, and operational support and processes, to ensure the successful delivery of all central and decentralized Workplace Systems / end-user facing IT technologies within the MRe Group globally to all employees; especially end-user device management and workplace platforms such as laptops, VDIs, mobile devices, and Office 365 applications. The main objective is to develop and execute strategies that ensure the successful and secure delivery of all Workplace Systems to the end-users and managing the day-to-day operations (~47.000 end-user devices, ~58.000 supported users).
Head of Global Workplace Services leads and manages five teams:
- Virtual Workplace Mgmt
- Windows Client Endpoint
- Unified Communications/M365
- Office Space Technology Services
- Management Solutions
As leader of these teams, the Head of Global Workplace Services is responsible for:
- overseeing team’s day-to-day operations
- Ensure teams deliver high-quality services and solutions, meeting end-users’ needs
- Develop strategy and objectives for the Workplace Services function
- Ensure teams are aligned with and work towards the function’s and organization's objectives and strategy
Responsibilities:
- Drive and execute standardization and transformation globally across the entire MRe Group to continuously improve efficiencies and leverage synergies of the Workplace Services function, ensuring global processes are implemented and followed across all entities, evolving needs of the organization and end-users are met, while new technological developments are considered in terms of relevance and benefit
- Design roadmaps concerning development and implementation of new Workplace Systems / end-user facing IT technologies, as well as managing lifecycles of all Workplace Systems to meet the organizations’ needs, ensure high quality and stability of provided services and support the business strategy
- Oversee day-to-day operations of teams responsible for delivering Workplace Systems, ensuring high-quality and stable services are provided to all end-users (MRe groupwide ~47.000 end-user devices), while ensuring high security standards for all Workplace Systems are implemented, executed, and followed
- Integrating processes, including all audit, compliance, and regulatory necessities, to ensure the Workplace Services function meets all necessary internal and external standards and legal requirements, without disruptions of ongoing, stable operations
- Manage financials of the entire Workplace Services function, including budgeting and bench[1]marking, to ensure teams have necessary resources and support to deliver high-quality services, while simultaneously ensuring teams manage their budgets in an effective and cost efficient manner
- Serving as key interface between Workplace Services function and other areas of the entire MRe Group, including business units (ERGO, MRe, MEAG), other IT teams, and second-line functions, in order to ensure needs of all stakeholders are considered and the organization stays up-to-date with industry trends and best practices
- Manage and develop own team of leaders and their employees in a global, culturally diverse setting, provide leadership, guidance, and support to ensure delivery of high-quality services and solutions, while fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement
Knowledge and Skills
- Academic degree or comparable professional training
- Several years of sound experience in managing large, business-critical projects with diverse stakeholders in an enterprise-level and international environment
- Profound experience in driving change-projects with diverse stakeholders
- Proven skills in financial management
- Sound knowledge of IT technologies and architectures
- Sound knowledge of insurance and re-insurance market and subsequent business needs
- Strong implementation skills with a focus on results and overall goals
- Pragmatic and sustainable problem-solving with strategic foresight
- Entrepreneurial thinking and acting with persuasiveness, empathy and creativity
- Negotiating skills in contact with external providers, clients, board members, etc.
- Cultural sensitivity and ability to lead a global team
