About the role:
Managing the Technical Accounting & Operation for Delegated Authority business for Great Lakes in the UK. Guide, develop and support the team to achieve set goals.
Key Responsibilities:
- As part of the Finance UK leadership team, actively contribute to the development & implementation of the department strategy, resourcing and cost planning
- Build a highly motivated team with high performance culture to meet business strategic goals and objectives by acting as a Talent Broker, continuously looking for opportunities to grow team’s skills and knowledge, having continuous conversations and support talent development plan/career progression
- Support all associated business units and have a customer central mind-set, considering the impact on the wider business when planning and making decisions
- Manage the operational tasks for Delegated Authority business and ensure effective controls are exercised and all tasks are completed to a high standard and within expected timeframe
- Continuously optimise the processes, finding synergies and efficiencies
- Be responsible for the quality assurance and ensure that it is completed in line with Munich Re’s standards and Great Lakes guidelines
- Participate or lead group wide and market initiatives/projects, representing Great Lakes UK

Key Skills & Experience:
- Degree qualification in accounting or relevant insurance qualifications with extensive experience in the field. Knowledge of Delegated Authority business model is desirable
- Experience in managing a team
- Commitment and the ability to work under pressure, being resilient
- Sound non-life primary insurance knowledge as well as MR / GLISE systems and processes
- Confidence and an engaging manner
