Delegated Underwriting Conduct Assistant
We are currently looking for a Delegated Underwriting Conduct Assistant to work with us on a full-time basis in our London office, reporting into the Group Head of Delegated Underwriting .
You will assist with Munich Re Conduct Risk governance and processes relating to the Syndicate and all forms of delegated underwriting (DU), working with the DA Audit Manager Analyst and the wider Munich Re Delegated Underwriting team.
Responsibilities:
- Understand Conduct Risk in relation to Munich Re Delegated Underwriting and support the delivery of its end-to-end governance process.
- Contribute to the risk assessment of coverholders and other delegated authorities in Munich Re Product Catalogue, analysing target customers, distribution, product manufacturing, etc. and assisting with conduct risk questionnaires, fair value assessments, reports to the Product Oversight Group (PCRSG), etc.
- Ensure all data pertaining to Conduct risk for DU is kept complete and up-to-date using internal tools, e.g. Product Risk Calculator, and contribute to Conduct risk management information using bordereaux data or reporting tools such as QlikView and PowerBI.
- Liaise with the Underwriting Oversight and Conduct Risk team on regulatory matters and developments supporting training and communication with MRS Underwriters, Lloyd’s Brokers and Coverholders.
- Contribute to standard and ad-hoc reports.
- Help drive forward good Conduct for the business to deliver the best outcomes for customers / policyholders.
- Understand all appropriate lines of escalation and the responsibilities of Conduct governance within Munich Re and the Syndicate
- Support the process and structure that upholds the requirements set out in the Lloyd’s Conduct Risk Minimum Standards and Complaints Principles.
Knowledge and Skills
Knowledge
- Sound knowledge of delegated underwriting/authorities business
- Working business knowledge and understanding of:
- Lloyd's delegated authority tools, e.g. DAM, IMR, Atlas, DCOM
- Report production, analysis and presentation utilising reporting tools
- Underlying principles of insurance/reinsurance practice
- Lloyd’s Market practices and regulation, specifically relating to delegated underwriting
- Demonstrate clear understanding of all company specific procedures that relate to own role
- Demonstrate clear understanding of the roles of colleagues and their relationships to the structure and operation of the department and wider organisation
- Demonstrate willingness to continue to develop knowledge through formal and informal learning, both internally and externally to the organisation
Skills
- Demonstrate high degree of attention to detail and accuracy and use of relevant reporting tools
- Ability to manage own workload and to work both supportively and jointly with colleagues
- Ability to work under pressure and flexibly when necessary, prioritising tasks, resource planning and meeting deadlines
- 4. Use of communication skills, both written and verbal reporting and presentation, that are both effective and meet business needs
