Junior Claims Consultant

Career Level 3

We are looking for a Junior Claims Consultant for our Life Claims Management Team reporting to the Head of Claims Operations.  The Life Claims Management Team is responsible for prudent risk management and contributing to the profitability of the Munich Re of Africa Branch (MRAB) Life portfolio.

Your Role:

• Providing claims risk management expertise to the MRAB Life team and clients
• Marketing of claims risk management services to clients (Life Insurance companies)
• Promoting and ensuring effective claims risk management practices relating to the MRAB Life portfolio
• Establishing and managing relationships with Claims Managers and other decision makers
• Ensuring profitability of portfolios through prudent claims risk management practices
• Providing advice to clients regarding international and local best practices.
• Assessing and validating claims

 Your profile:

• BSc – Occupational Therapy, Physiotherapy, Psychology or Equivalent 
• 2 – 3 years life claims assessment experience in the insurance industry (dealing with Group Life and/or Retail Life Claims)
• Excellent communication skills
• Excellent negotiations skills
• Sound report writing skills
• Sound computer literacy
