Title: Senior Study Manager - Offshore

HSB Solomon Associates LLC, a subsidiary of Hartford Steam Boiler and Munich Re, is seeking candidates for a Senior Study Manager – Offshore Study position to work in a dynamic, fast-paced business environment. Solomon is the leading performance improvement company for the global energy industry, serving clients in nearly 80 countries, with global headquarters in Dallas and regional offices in Houston, London, Manama, and Singapore. The successful candidate will lead the Solomon Offshore Study, which includes performing study go-to-market, study delivery, study enhancement, and study business operations activities. In addition, the successful candidate will seek market input on potential new study offerings to address both current and future industry challenges. The successful candidate will also integrate offshore industry knowledge, performance improvement experience, and business acumen to sustain and grow Solomon’s Offshore Study portfolio.
Responsibilities
- Accountable for profit & loss (P&L) and gross margin performance of the study.
- Partners with Business Development, Marketing, and the Business Unit Head to develop and execute go-to-market plans to secure new clients, expand footprint at existing clients, and deepen industry participation in the Offshore Study.
- Establishes pricing and commercial structure to improve study monetization. Implements value pricing strategies based on capability differentiation and strong value propositions.
- Develops commercial proposals, subscription agreements, and contracts for prospective study participants. Coordinates with Business Development, Finance, and Legal in the negotiation and execution of commercial agreements with clients.
- Leads the client-facing and internal execution of the Offshore Study over its biennial cycle, including data submission, data validation, methodology application, quality control, results issuance, presentation delivery, and project management. Coordinates with Solutions Delivery and Study Operations for resource and activity management in support of Study execution.
- Manages Study training programs for both clients and Solomon consultants. Maintains Study infrastructure, including input modules, instructions, data validation tools, deliverable templates and training content.
- Develops and drives implementation of the improvement roadmap for the Offshore Study, including enhancements, new capability, and platform/tool upgrades. Collaborates with Product Management to conduct voice-of-customer surveys and incorporate market feedback into improvement roadmaps.
- Continuously improves and adapts Study execution processes to increase efficiency, institutionalize knowledge, and deepen study insights.
- Serves as ambassador for the Study via conferences, digital forums, and face-to-face client activity. Delivers and participates in client results presentations, especially for executive audiences.
- Oversees Study business operations, including subscription management, budget management, invoicing, and revenue forecasting.
Qualifications
Education
Required:
- Bachelor of Science Degree in Chemical Engineering or related Engineering discipline
Work Experience
Required:
- 20+ years of career experience in the Upstream industry preferably with an operating company
- Significant experience in developing and implementing programs to improve asset and facility performance
- Significant experience with strategic planning, goal setting, implementation, and stewardship
Preferred:
- 5+ years of asset management experience at the leadership team level
- 5+ years of study participation or execution
- Experience with performance improvement consulting, either internal to an operating company or a third party
- Career tenure spanning multiple geographies
- Experience with international manufacturing, projects, and/or consulting
