Munichre Service Limited, part of Munich Re, the world’s largest reinsurer, is looking for an intern with a background in statistics, insurance, or economics to join our Propositions Studio team in Hong Kong.

YOUR ROLE

Multinational client management:

  • Conduct Periodic Financial Reporting – developing a suitable model to easily track and analyze quarterly financials (without pivots), prepare results presentations against set strategy.

 

Product and market research:

  • Support product development and pricing, including market research, product design, and product and marketing materials preparations.
  • Conduct in-depth research on industry and market trends, including product innovations, customer needs, regulatory landscape, distribution channels, and key market players.
  • Analyze client and external data meticulously to derive actionable insights, collaborating closely with local product and pricing teams.
  • Craft compelling presentations, predominantly using PowerPoint, to effectively communicate insights and recommendations to key stakeholders.
  • Undertake administrative duties such as document translations, meeting preparations and minutes keeping to facilitate smooth operations

 

Pricing:

  • Conduct pricing basis research and make recommendations on risk incidence rates (mortality, critical illness, and medical reimbursement).
  • Help review existing pricing basis and risk appetite by gathering experience data (both from internal and external sources) and conducting experience analysis. Make recommendations on appropriate changes.
  • Assist in reinsurance pricing projects including sourcing appropriate pricing assumptions, pricing modelling and producing quotations.

 

YOUR PROFILE

  • Currently enrolled bachelor's or master's student, preferably in the latter stage of studies, with outstanding academic performance.
  • Academic background in mathematics, statistics, economics, or insurance-related studies.
  • Demonstrated interest in the (re-)insurance industry, particularly in areas such as Life and Health insurance.
  • Strong proficiency in data analysis and structuring, with the ability to derive meaningful insights from complex datasets.
  • Fluency in spoken and written English and preferably another Asian language, with advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, especially Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Possess a proactive business development mindset, excellent client service skills, and the ability to work independently with a self-starter attitude.
  • Available from early or mid March 2025 onwards for a 6 months period, with the flexibility to work at least 3-4 full-time days per week.
