Underwriter Associate – Graduate Trainee Program (3 positions available)
About the Program:
- 6-Month Intensive Training: Dive into a comprehensive curriculum blending classroom learning, hands-on experience, and mentorship from industry experts.
- Specialty Focus: Gain deep expertise in Equipment Breakdown insurance with option to focus on other critical areas in risk management later on.
- Mentorship & Networking: Build relationships with senior leaders, peers, and mentors who will guide your journey.
- Career Launch: Upon successful completion, transition into a full-time Underwriter role with increased responsibility, autonomy, and binding authority.
What we’re looking for:
- Recent or upcoming graduates (Class of 2025/2026) with a Bachelor’s or Master’s in Risk Management, Insurance, Business, Finance, Economics, or related fields).
- Strong communication, relationship-building, and analytical skills.
- Passion for innovation, technology, and making a difference in the insurance industry.
- Prior internship experience in insurance/underwriting is a plus.
- Progress toward CIP designation is an asset.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Power BI, Word, PowerPoint); familiarity with SharePoint, SQL, Gen AI is a bonus.
- Leadership qualities: curiosity, integrity, drive, and analytical thinking.
- Effective working both independently and as part of a greater team.
- To stay connected with our team and thrive in this role, we require a minimum of 3 in-office days per week at our Hartford headquarters.
